Can I Beat Duke Fishron as the FIRST BOSS?
With the addition of Terraria’s 1.4.5 update ‘Bigger and Boulder’ you can theoretically fight Duke Fishron as the first boss in a brand new world… and considering I’ve never even attempted duke pre-mech before, surely this will go perfectly fine… right?

You should try Core Keeper sometime. It's a more recently released game that's similar to Terraria, but with its own unique features and gameplay that definitely set it apart. It even had a collab with Terraria a while back, with the Terraria devs saying: "Oh, and if you haven't checked out Core Keeper yet, you should – the team at Pugstorm are good people and they have created a pretty fun game!"
Honestly, this seed seems like a huge time saver. Like sure, plenty of suffering early on, but if im playing calamity for example, this is a good way to skip 20 hours.
you have the same dps no matter if it s the shadowflame bow or marrow , since the shadowflame bow inflics a pretty good debuff that pretty much compensates for the damage + it s not affected by defense+ in case you miss the debuff still does the damage so
this was exactly the FIRST question I asked myself when I first made my tooeasy world too, glad to see someone else is answering it

super fun video! I've done something kind of similar for my pre-mech duke fishron, using chillet with feather fall and double jumps bc it's so goated! Editting was amazing as usual, but don't think I didn't notice the ominous glitching effects at 2:29 and 12:57… I wonder what that's about lol
It's okay to use Journey mode (with difficulty turned up appropriately), even if it's just for speeding up time and changing the weather.

I've gotten so good at fighting this boss that i fight him first before the mechs because it's such an engaging — yet simple fight!

as soon as hardmode starts my initial thoughts are "i'm going to fight this fish" and then any subsequent boss fights that occur before him are purely natural

While you did luck out with the orichalcum, you could also just make power bombs. They're 1 cobalt/paladium bar and are more than strong enough to get more than one bar's worth of ore in return (plus, though I might be misremembering, I'm pretty sure they can hit anything below either titanium/adamantite or chlorophyte).
