I'll start by apologizing if this breaks rules, I'm just dumb and posted the first time without images.

As the title says. I've been trying to get into terraria building for a while, but always get too swept up with the game. So this time, I'm forcing it through. The first image is what I have currently, and the following three were styles I liked and wanted to emulate.

The build I'm looking for is a manor house type thing. 2/3 stories, balcony, defensive tower, and basement for all the storage (And later trophies, but little steps.)

The idea is rustic, but I'm not super familiar with design philosophy, so just fantasy medieval. Mostly what I'm wanting is building advice, and blocks that could be good to use. I keep seeing all these wall and regular blocks that look great, but I can't find them in the many many menus of terraria xD

All rooms are temporary, and I'd love to learn how to make real rooms that still function as npc housing because I see some builds use beds and others use tubs and I'd love to learn how to do that.

For progression, I'm just about to enter hard mode (But haven't yet) and I just got the mechanic for background blocks. I'm also playing modded, namely calamity, Thorium, Fargo's, and the layered mod for putting multiple things on the same tile.

Thank you for your consideration.

  1. I’m no builder myself but dynasty wood is a great building block for shingles and such. Also from what I’ve understood, a lot of the times you are looking for the tiles “texture” and not color, because you can just repaint these tiles. There are some YouTube guides out there for terraria building which do help a little bit. But the way I build is mostly taking inspiration from other builds and making it on my own way
