if youre a noob just make a journey character (duplication, godmode etc.), beat the game and learn mechanics and then play normally

  1. Bad advice. Classic/expert in softcore is the way to go to get into the game. If you get infinite amounts of anything you want you get bored of the game quicker.

What you say is only good for a small percentage of players.

You can even get into the game blind on hardcore master mode. I did see it happen to CarlSagan42 and it was an amazing experience.

Prolly the worst advice ive seen.

Terraria should be experienced vanilla, with the raw, unbridled chaos. You don’t learn the value of materials, weapons, blocks, etc if you play journey, where you can make 1 into millions. I first played terraria when I was 12. I didn’t know what I was doing. It took me a year to find out that there was an actual boss progression line.

  3. For a new player my advice is-
-Start a normal world (small, so they don’t get overwhelmed)
-I know the wiki is a newbies best friend, but I would recommend using the guide in game when you can
-Give this game a chance. It has 138.9 AVERAGE hours of playtime on steam for a reason.

  4. No. Don’t do this. Just play Classic mode/softcore like everyone used to. It’s the best difficulty for new players. Journey is great for experienced builders and stuff.

Absolutely not, horrible idea, new players need to learn actual progression and difficulty before they play Journey mode, Journey is better for experienced players who have played the game enough for progression/farming to become more tedious than it is difficult and want quality of life features to cut out parts of the game that have become boring.

Building your first ever mob farm is a quintessential shared terraria player experience, building your 50th is just a slog.

Nah bruh, if you’re new, just follow the achievements that appear when you open your inventory
