The trick is to use the Bait Maker to make targeted bait. If you are only fishing up rainbow trout it becomes a lot more reasonable. I usually fish up 12-15 tags over a full day.
RNG. Some days i catch a dozen and get ten or so tokens; some days i catch 12 before I get 1. Save scum if you want the rewards. I dont usually ever repeat this event after getting what I want
This is why I pretty much never bother with that trout derby.
it’s around 30% from a Trout. It’s somewhat balanced around using targeted bait and tackle (or challenge bait), so without optimizing it it will be “hard” to get those tickets.
