Well, 1.6 was announced in April, and it came out in March of the next year. Unfortunately it took until November for it to come to console and mobile.
So maybe a year? Let’s hope for August for full release. Because that’s when he officially announced 1.7.
Edit because I said the wrong month. It took about a year for it to release.

Probably around 1-2 years. Minimum 1 year honestly. I think the multiple platforms made it way longer. He even admitted that it was much easier to update the game when it was just on PC. And there was that disaster in 1.5 where it took almost two years for Switch and Mobile to receive their update. I think that traumatized ConcernedApe enough that he decided to wait until every platform is ready

I’ve been playing since at least before the 1.3 multiplayer update. If I have learned anything it’s that we will be waiting for a long time. It’s always worth it though. And as someone who has been hoping and waiting for Clint to be a marriage candidate, I can’t wait to start another new save and put another 500+ hours in to it lol.

At the very least, I think we have another 2 1/2 years of waiting. At the very most, I think five years.
With 1.6 only being a year and a half – 2 years old, we most definitely are going to be waiting a while.
Remember, he is also working on another game entirely too while doing this. I’m happy to wait as long as we need to.
