Who don't understand how I placed it like that, is called using a Update suppression, it got patched in 1.19 tho, but theres other version for 1.19, called update skipping or update skipper. Basically what these things do is kinda weird, you can break the obsidian of a portal and the portal wont break, basically just ignoring the update that the block revices. Check out videos about update suppression on YT and you understand more.

  1. At least in Java edition you don’t need update supression to place it like that. You just need to hold the lantern while breaking the block below the gravel and hold both mouse buttons at the same time. Or use the sticky piston trick to get a floating gravel block.

  2. SwimmerOther7055 on

Slime block or other insta breakable block gravel on top of that and then you left and right click at the same time to place the lantern

  3. You can do this very easily without update supression with just breaking a block and placing the lantern really fast (similar way as putting a torch down to beak full pillar of sand/gravel). Took like few seconds to do in a new world [https://i.imgur.com/uBmfJ75.png](https://i.imgur.com/uBmfJ75.png)

    This was done in 26.1.2

  4. IIRC there is 1.20+ update suppression (out of memory suppression or something, I did watch a few videos of it but never tried)

But this is doable without it

  5. You could probably also achieve it if you find a naturally generated floating gravel patch in a cave
