I kinda let’em free range and just pet them as I come across them, though some go far out and I only manage them when they amble over – Forgot we have fences 😀

Not too small but they’ll find tons more with more surface area. If it were me, I’d at least pen the coop and barn together, without the wall so they can find a few each per day.

If you have less than 4 pigs, I’d say this is alright, but if it’s 12, you need a bit more space. I’d usually go for around 3-5 times the size of the barn. The more hearts the pigs have, the more likely they’ll find truffles. The truffles need some room to spawn, and the pigs will try to find more on empty tiles.

It also depends on how many pigs you plan to have, but generally pigs require the most space out of any money making method. The more space you give them, the more money they give you.
I am actually in end game of a animal focused farm, and I still don’t have pigs. Yeah, Pigs are a good money maker, but with the shepherd profession Sheep easily beat out pigs for gold per day per tile.
You just store all the cloth you make in the month, switch to artisan at the end and sell everything then switch back.
Its been really refreshing doing a playthrough without relying on wine lol.

I stopped relying on fences after a while. Just close the door at night, pet them first thing in the morning, and open the door again. I like finding truffles all over my farm like a lil surprise

How many pigs do you have now, or are you planning for future pigs? Where will they graze? Why so small when you could easily extend that fence toward the trees?

I would give them a bigger pen if i were you. The more open spaces they have the better. You could consider expanding the pen maybe out to that tree if that doesnt take up too much of your space

My chickens are the only animals I dont let out but I also have the auto better in the coop.

You could extend the fence to the other side of your shed at least. This would allow more truffles to be found. Especially if you have several pigs. Also, I use lightening rods for my fence to collect batteries during storms.

I feel like if you add a couple more trees you won’t even need a fence. I use trees as a natural fence and it works great

You’re on PC. Ditch the fence and get the auto grab truffles mod if you don’t want to run around at the end of the day👍

If you do want a fence, build it around your barn and shed and make it bigger in length. Or do what some of us do and just let your piggies roam around. The bigger the space, the more they have to find truffles, the more money you get.
