So me and my friends have a minecraft server, and my ex (who was really into redstone stuff) used to be on this server as well but after some drama he isn't anymore. I'm using his base now and I found this in the basement with all his farms and I have no idea what it is. Anyone have any ideas?

Pics 1-4 I can’t really decipher what the purpose would be, some pics of the inside and from above would probably be helpful. These are kinda just looking at some blocks. For example, pic 3 would have been better if you stood roughly where the red circle is and looked in the direction of the arrow:

Pic 6 looks like a manual shulker unloader (making some assumptions on things I cannot see here), you put full shulkers in the barrel which get sent to the dispenser, you manually take the items out, when the shulker is empty the piston breaks the shulker (which gets picked up by the hopper under the comparator), and the dispenser dispenses a new shulker.
Pic 7 looks like it drains the chest boat at 8x hopper speed and fills four dispensers/droppers at 2x hopper speed each. This would keep up with the max speed of four droppers/dispensers exactly. Maybe you fill this with items from the unloader?
Pic 8 I have no idea what the water could be for without a better view of the back/sides and whatever might be connected to it.
I think i should specify that this server is on 1.21.4
