I know I can start the day over and be a millionaire again, but I want to achieve perfection and the clock is necessary.
I have over 1,230 hours played, got 43 of the 49 achievements so far (87%), and in the last few weeks I've been really focused on making money, buying that damn clock, catching all the damn fish, crafting all the damn items, pleasing everyone (and having to apologize to Harvey because I divorced him… forgive me, he's so annoying), all this while taking care of all my 68 animals.
Just a rant from someone who is on the path to perfection but doesn't feel it makes sense anymore, sorry about that.

There comes a point where you’re making so much money that even the Clock price looks okay
I just get it as the last thing before perfection… And try to hide it between some trees or behind a building.
But I agree that it looks totally stupid and should be redesigned or renamed somehow. A huge golden clock just doesn’t fit the setting of the game at all. On the other hand, I don’t really care, because I end my farm one day after buying it.
As an FYI, if the clock is your last item, it costs 5 million to buy the perfection waivers for it.
Should have been a clock tower. Now that would be cool and somewhat fit a small town farm kind of vibe.

How do people have more than double my playtime and still not have perfection or all achievements?
The visual of the clock may seem a bit out of place but I guess it doesn’t bother me much. the obelisks on the other hand..
I felt so bad I ended up divorcing Harvey on his birthday, it’s just how the timing worked out 😂
