Every time I try to give him a chance, I'm reminded how unnecessarily mean he is. Yes, I know he's a lot nicer once you become better friends with him, but it's tough getting to that point when I have absolutely no desire to be friends with someone so hostile and rude… šŸ˜’

Almost halfway through autumn of Year 3 and he's still sitting at 1 heart. I really can't stand this dude.

He has a point, but it’s more like we are giving Penny a better place to live than a trailer. I would gladly build him a house as well even though I’m married to Alex.

  2. Like a lot of people who deal with depression through alcohol addiction, Shane is extremely difficult to get along with. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.

It’s because she prays to our Lord and Savior, Yoba, Shane. Geez, it ain’t rocket surgery.

  4. I bought Pam a house. That same day she told me to do something useful for once and clean it meanwhile her daughter won’t talk to me. Something about how she thought I was the one, but no longer.

So I told Pam God isn’t real.

  5. I like Shane more than Haley. Shane is a depressed alcoholic. Haley just chooses to be a brat for no good reason.Ā

  6. I’m determined to believe Shane haters have no sense of humor and cannot read because almost all of his dialogue is meant as a joke.

  7. He actually still has this dialogue even if he’s at 10 hearts with you, just FYI. I’ve never liked this dialogue either, like I will gladly help ya Shane just tell me what you need.

  8. im romancing him on my switch playthrough while i married abigail on xbox playthrough. Shane gets soft trust me and you will understand why he is the way he is.

After getting jumpscared by his heart events in my first playthrough, I only talk to him on festivals/holidays and don’t gift him anything to avoid his cutscenes for as long as possible.

Fully no offense, I’m glad that representation exists, but it’s a lot for my silly little farming sim

I agree tbh, I really don’t like Shane. And the ā€œhe’s a depressed alcoholicā€ thing doesn’t work for me because hey, so am I! And I’m not a dick to everyone I meet.

  11. Shane is a glass half empty kinda guy. He’s on that cloudy spectrum that questions good fortune or acts of kindness. I’m surprised there isn’t a game mechanic where Shane rejects gifts or says something dismissive if you give him things until certain heart levels.

He’s probably my favorite character. I like that he isn’t perfect, just trying to be better (with your influence). It reminds me of the player’s original background and how they were drowning at Joja corp. If it hadn’t been for a miracle farm from Grandpa, the player might be in Shane’s place, possibly another joja cubicle skeleton.

If you want a loving green flag, marry Alex.

This gave me the idea to make a co-op save with the other farmer living in a Caravan and then have that character marry Shane just to put him in a Caravan
