Honestly I just never use thorns because of the few situations where you don’t want it (dealing with zombie villagers, controlling a mob path, etc…) and the actual good part is neglieble, you will rarely save an entire strike of damage by thorns, it doesn’t change most interaction

Thorns is useful in pvp as it give you an upper hand against a similar stuff without thorn
