I was playing Stardew Valley the other day and I started thinking about the possibility of a mod that would allow time to pass in a more immersive way: characters would age and change appearances, older characters would die and younger ones would grow up, characters you didn't marry could get married, among other scripted characters and events that could happen.
I was dying to see what such a mod would be like.
Would you think it would be cool if such a mod existed? And if so, what could be added?

    Absolutely!

Given the farmer is magic, you could have them live a longer time.

  2. I‘d love a Mod like that! Especially if Vincent and Jas age up to preteens like Hugh and Kate from Harvest Moon DS. George and Evelyn‘s funeral would be devastating though.

Honestly that kind of mod would take a lot of work, they would have to first implement the way it tracks years and age, have to somehow find a way to change the proper sprites as time goes on completely replacing the vanilla ones as they change like jas and Vincent for example, another thing to be implemented is more NPCs moving to the valley as some places would become available and possibly more built, and it would have to have different things for both routes of the game and more I can’t name off the top of my head

Only if you also build a time machine so I can visit previous times 👀

A concept that seems fine in theory. But would just end up being a cause of stress. “Oh you didnt get around to befriend george? He’s dead now so too late. Didnt start dating sebastian? He moved to zaza city”

  6. I think there’s a mod kinda like that… Changing valley or growing valley I forgot but some of the characters grow up and Sebastian leaves.
