Hi! I wanted to make a post looking at everything in Minecraft that might be related to prehistoric fauna. We can see the following things:

– Fossils, both from the Overworld and the Nether (I included the dried ghasts because they seem attracted to the large soul energy of the Nether giants!).

– Coal, since it originates from the accumulation of prehistoric vegetation in swampy areas.

– Diamonds, because they can be found in fossils. Although they are formed from carbon, in real life there is no evidence that this carbon can come from living beings. However, it seems that in Minecraft this can be the case.

– Limestone and calcite are formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate and the accumulation of skeletal remains of marine organisms such as corals or bivalves.

– The sniffer, the torchflower, the pitcher plant, and their seeds.

– The nautilus and its zombie variant, since in real life it is a living fossil. Furthermore, the Minecraft nautilus seems to be clearly inspired by ammonites.

– Petrified slabs are interesting because they are a hidden item. In real life, petrified wood is wood that has fossilized.

There are some interesting things, but I think the Minecraft past could be expanded much more! What ideas do you have for what they could add?
