I am in year 1 Sunday 14th.
I have planted 150 starfruit, which will be ready tomorrow. I was planning on selling everything to Pierre tomorrow and buy starfruit seeds.
Due to green rain, Pierre should be closed. I can't sell my starfruit and earn money to buy new seeds.
I have been trying to optimize this save and I am contemplating restarting.
Is there anyway to salvage this. How would you pivot?

You can afford 60 Starfruit seeds with your current cash. Plus whatever you can sell today. How many spots do you need to fill?
Why didn’t you save up for those weird dusty rocks with color particles and trade it with the dessert trader for desert warp totems?
What about fertilizer?

Do it the day after and use speed grow you can afford
Do you have any Speed-gro so you can plant at least some additional Starfruit the next day? It’s expensive at this stage of the game but I often have some stashed from mystery boxes. If you have any pine tar, you can also craft it. I think it’s one pine tar + 5 moss for 5 Speed-gro, and you’ll have plenty of moss.

It looks like you have some sort of fertilizer down. It’s that speed gro from the desert? If so you should be fine.
If I’m mistaken I’m quite certain you can still buy the starfruit seeds and plant the deluxe fertilizer as long as you buy it on Thursday and it should still work.
You should also be getting super close to Farming 10. If you get it when you pick up the starfruit then you can just choose Agriculturalist and respec to Artisan later.
Just replace with melons instead of starfruit. Or if you’ll be able to afford enough speed gro (between crafting and purchasing) you can still do starfruit planted a day late
If I were you: don’t harvest until Thursday 18th, on that day, till and ready the extra 140 spots, harvest, sell, go to desert buy DSG and SF then plant both.
Assuming you will get farming level 10 on this harvest, pick Agriculturist for 10% speed, on the 26/27th harvest and plant wheat which will save your DSG for fall. Even if you’re a few days into Fall before wheat harvest, it shouldn’t impact if you choose pumpkins or cranberries which will both get 3 harvests.
I would keep them planted through the green rain and harvest them after. You can put some speed grow on the next batch to keep your harvests on time. I use my ginger island farm for crops that make valuable wine since it doesn’t matter what season it is there
I’m new to the game as was completely blindsided by the green rain, I don’t understand the problem?
As other people have said, if you use regular Speed Grow or Deluxe Speed Grow you can still squeeze out another starfruit harvest before the season is over. With regular Speed Grow you can plant a round of seeds on Tuesday 16 or Wednesday 17 and still get that harvest before the end of summer. Or if you can wait until Thursday 18 to buy your starfruit seeds you can also then buy Deluxe Speed Grow from the Oasis for cheaper than you can get regular Speed Grow from Pierre’s. If you buy, fertilize and plant the seeds on Thursday 18 then they’ll be ready by the 27th.
Buy as much starfruit seeds as you can today. Then, buy the rest and speedgro them the day after tomorrow.

Good lord if you’re playing with enough modding to allow you to have 150 star fruit planted in your second season…. Then this isn’t a real problem! Just wait till 16 and buy some melons or something.
If you hit lvl 10 farming on this harvest you can spec into 10% faster growth
Can you not pop it in the sell box? Or am I misunderstanding this post 😭
