Skyblock is one of the oldest maps in Minecraft. You start on an L shaped island with limited resources and your goal is to complete 33 challenges. But what if you tried to go beyond that, push the game to its limits and try to beat the ender dragon. Well, skyblock was not designed to let you do that… But when has that stopped me before.

  1. everytime i watch these videos in older mc versions i always forget how disgusting they made the nether blocks look back then. like it looked like a free phone game back then

  2. It wasn't explicitly mentioned, but the reason he's playing on 1.12.2 specifically (when the OG Skyblock map is older) is because it's the last update before "The Flattening".
Until 1.12.2 every block is identified by a single ID number* in both memory and saves, which can be manipulated and merged as seen in the video.

This had the massive problem that it limited the amount of blocks that could be in the game to the number of possible IDs, which was a pain, especially for modders. So with 1.13 the way blocks and the world work was completely rewritten, replaced with identifier string and block data system still used today.

    * and also a second saved number for variants of the same blocks, and sometimes the ID of an associated entity to store more complex data – the origin of why tile entities exist and act the way they do.

  3. My Finnish ass got lowkey jumpscared when the splash text at the very beginning mentioned Finland xD but can confirm, Minecraft is legal in Finland, even if it was originally made by a Swede

  4. This might be the most insane thing I've ever seen. I wouldve never thought this would even be remotely possible. I cant wait for the next video to be twice as insane.
