This is also the same with the mouse and fairy mounts
Doesn't exiting a transformation mount that shrinks your hitbox to the same thing. I know the mouse at least will teleport you if you continuously try to dismount while in a 1-tile wide tunnel.

This might sound sarcastic but I don't know how does potentially being shimmered until you fall to the bottom of the world a "bad game design"

Its worth noting the teleportation timer didn't exist on release and was added cause some people were left falling for way too long haha
You also can't fall out of the world cause you can't be inflicted with shimmering in the underworld at all

using nothing but shimmer, some wire, and two teleporters, terasteel creates a cross world teleporter
Imagine a trap where it's pockets of shimmer, spaced just far enough that it takes <20 seconds to fall between each pool, so you keep falling down until you hit the bottom of the world. That would be such a cruel trap.
Worth mentioning shimmering while transformed into a creature will cause the 'open space' check to succeed if your transformation fits inside, e.g. 1×1 space for mouse

If you are transformed and transformation has different size, it can teleport you to a smaller open space
I thought…you can't fall outa the world cuz as soon as you enter hell you can't get affected by shimmer debuff

I wonder if it can warp you into an inescapable area. Like, a gap surrounded by blocks your pickaxe can't break.

The Shimmer debuff happens when you are fully submerged in Shimmer, not when you touch it.
It's a way to troll people in a server I guess, make them teleport back to spawn if they fall in the Shimmer. Long prep time for that though.
Whenever you come up with a video that revolves around a seemingly useless mechanic, I think to myself, some Terraria YouTuber is gonna find a way to use this in a challenge
you can do the same by dying and it’s even faster!!
It’s worth noting that at least previously, you could make a valid house and usable bed that did not satisfy the open space requirements
