Left, I like the way the color connects. One on the right kind of feels just cut off. It would probably work better with more depth. But between these two, I’m gonna say left.

1 looks better. 2 looks like a sudden color change that’s the best I can describe it.

Left! Makes your eyes follow the curve where as the plain black is kinda hidden
