Keep exploring and getting golden walnuts. If you can’t access something right now, do something else and come back to it later.

There are a bunch of golden walnuts hidden across the island. Some parrots don’t appear until you’ve done a different one. If you don’t feel like searching, there is a a joja parrot by the volcano that you can pay to find all of them

I’ve never been there

I actually hate the ginger island. Probably the only thing I dislike about this game.

Save some money and buy all the walnuts on the island. From the parrot at the very top, next to the mine. It’s a real pain to find them all.

It’s all about finding golden walnuts (they are everywhere, in the water, in the sand, on top of trees, you can find them mining and combating, doing quests!!) and give them to the parrots to unlock different parts of the island 🙂
Play for like 5 minutes before making a whole reddit post about it, Jaysus.

I have to say, without the Wiki, Ginger Island is somewhat annoying to figure out.

I’ve unlocked a few parts and I still don’t get the island. it’s way too far, I don’t want to keep going there, not even using a totem, and we’re supposed to spend some time there because of farming. a waste of space. the house is very cute though!

I just get irritated playing Simon says (or memory, whatever you wanna call it) and trying to fish them all out… *sigh* … 👀😂

I would highly recommend checking the wiki for things like this or even searching this reddit page as there are tons of posts about this same exact topic. I think that is probably why people are reacting to your post negatively and getting a bit annoyed with the amount of posts that are asking questions that can pretty easily be looked up either on the wiki or on this page.
That being said: as you explore the island, collect golden walnuts, and unlock things parrots will show up on stands throughout the island and will ask for differing amounts of golden walnuts to unlock things. In that photo you are standing directly next to one such stand, so keep exploring and you’ll be able to unlock it eventually. The wiki has a list of all golden walnuts and where you can find them if you want to use that (I saw someone already posted the link so I’m not gonna repost it.). There is a parrot in Leo’s hut in the jungle that’ll give you one hint a day to where you can find walnuts. It won’t be able to give you hints to every single walnut and the hints it can give will be vague, along the lines of “x amount are buried in the west” but it’ll tell you where to start looking for them. If you don’t want to find them yourself or use the wiki there is a Joja parrot up on the left side of the volcano that you can pay to find all the golden walnuts for you. The only things this will change about the game is that you won’t get the “full ginger island experience” as the game warns you before buying them and for perfection your run will not count as a no joja run.

Not with that attitude.

There should be one parrot asking for walnuts (I think it’s the one to move the turtle blocking the western side of the island, but I could be wrong). Find enough golden walnuts to feed him and several parrots should unlock

I thought it was very annoying at first. well… it still is, somehow.
it did not work out for me, I wasn’t having that much fun chasing golden walnuts and doing insufferable puzzles.
The aftermath it’s worth it tho. the farm there is super cute and functional
I would recommend you to do it all as fast as you can, spend a lot of days without going back to your first farm. but that’s just what I did, it worked for me.

There is at least one other area you have to unlock first by paying golden walnuts to the parrots.

If you don’t want to do the walnuts, there’s also a joja parrot you can pay to unlock everything.
It’s pretty expensive but it gets cheaper the more you find so you can get the easy ones and skip the PITA ones.
