Java (I heard Bedrock cannot place multiple item frames in one block). Some of it is survival-friendly, specifically if you have a way of turning item frames invisible.
Hi! I am back with a few more techniques and details for comic book-style builds.
I decided to create a larger space for my experiments, where I can try out some other ideas I have. Once again, everything is done using invisible item frames and map art done with void.
Here, you can see crops that use iron trapdoors as a base for the item frames. This can be done in different styles, I am pretty sure. I imagine more vanilla-like textures for custom crops (like corn?) can be used with other trapdoors/slabs in the same technique.
There are also rocks and shells scattered around, which have probably been done a million times before. Windows are white stained glass blocks with a black outline.
I tried using player heads for flower pots and a bucket, which are placed on armor stands. There are no great plants for this, but I find pale oak sapling and wither rose most fitting. Other flowers do give a nice pop of colour.
There are still problems with black outlines of non-full blocks, like fences or the inside bend of a stair block. Another problem is that item frames do not render past a certain distance. While the room works great, an outdoor build might look like a white blob from a distance.
I do not want to spam r/DetailCraft with this style and decided to put everything in just one more post (and r/minecraftbuilds removes the post for map art). Consider screenshots of a full picture at the end of the set as bonuses. Thanks for your attention!

This is insane! It truly looks like a texture pack, but isn’t.
