I'm new here like I don't know a single thing about the game and never saw it being played before, I just saw it, bought it, and I found it kinda nice

First thing I did was make some land for my crops then some more farming, mining, and getting wood. Now idk what to do next—I'm on my 18th day on Spring on year 1 btw!

I see people getting these mine shafts and different kind of seeds, I only see the seeds at the Pierre store. I think I need help! 😭

Hi! Welcome to the community! There is a mine outside of the farm that should be open by the 2nd week of spring. Each season also has different seeds, and you get access to new ones after your first year is done. Hope this helps!

  2. I also can’t progress through the story, does it depends on how far along the year you are? I already finished the egg hunting event.

I only get my ores and stuff from buying at the blacksmith and breaking rocks.

I also got this weird rock with a star at the bottom, told me to get it cracked to see what’s inside it but when I tried with the blacksmith like I did with the geodes, it wouldn’t let me. I’m definitely doing smth wrong 😭

Welcome! One piece of advice is to pay attention to what people say to you and what you see and read. There are a lot of clues that are not obvious at first.

Hello. friend! Basically a newbie here myself, but the game is very relaxing!

Be sure to explore everywhere! If you use your scythe to clear the lank you’ll find various hidden seeds. Both on your far and across the city!

Welcome to the valley! For progress you should go see the community center (likely seen the cutscene for it already), talk to the villagers and keep exploring.

The game tells you a LOT of things if you know where to ask, mainly the collection page, villager dialogue and generally paying attention. There is also [the wiki](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Stardew_Valley_Wiki), being near mandatory, but it does contain spoilers so be cautious if you want to enjoy the story in your own tempo.

  6. Here is some no-spoiler guidance to get you going.

Every day: read the TV (especially Livin’ Off the Land), your mailbox, the list of your quests in the player menu, and the bulletin board by the general store in the center of town.

Clear a patch of ground by using tools to chop wood, break rocks, and scythe away grass and fiber.

Hoe a little patch of ground, plant your parsnips and water them every day. You’ve got that done, I see! Good work! When they are ready, harvest them and sell them in your shipping box or in the general store.

Chop 50 wood and build a chest. This way your limited storage won’t be so annoying. Plus, you are going to want to save resources (wood, stone, clay, fiber, etc.) and a few of everything else for later. After a week or two, you’ll want a bunch of chests on your farm and some around town.

When you are out of energy (“you are starting to feel exhausted”), wander around town, talking to people. Click on stuff as you wander around – some of it can be picked up. Go into stores and figure out what they sell. Buy some more seeds in the general store.

I advise you NOT to read the wiki, watch videos, get tons of spoilers from reddit, download mods or try a Challenge game until you have gotten at least to year 2 of the game. You can never un-see spoilers. Enjoy the exploration and the discovery!

    Welcome to the Valley!

Welcome! You’re doing awesome, and Spring 18 is still so early, take it slow!

Talk to everyone, look through the trash cans (when nobody’s looking), if you see 3 little worms in the ground use your hoe on it. Fishing can be challenging at first, but it gets easier. There’s no rush to finish everything, take your time, explore, have fun, and prepare to lose hours of time😂

Hi, you can go to Robin to move your buildings for free, that way you can move the coop in the south closer to your house, in the other patch of grass

You can also buy a grass starter recipe from Pierre so you can plant grass anywhere

Also, if you build a silo, you get hay when cutting grass with a scythe, that can be put in the coop for chickens to eat during rain

Worry not and explore challenges you see on the right side (F) and community centre. Try making things from making tab.
Pro tip: get a work bench and calendar from robin’s shop

Welcome to the game! Take your time, enjoy it, and above all go at your own pace! First time with it, I struggled a lot until I found the wiki page, which helped with a lot of reference material for crafting/recipes, loved gifts, etc.
