I mean, whatever works for you, really. No one judges how you organize your chests or anything. As long as you can find what you’re looking for, it doesn’t really matter
With that said, if you buy a workbench from Robin (and you should, the workbench is an enormous time saver), then you’ll want your stuff (that you use for crafting) in no more than seven chests, which is the most you can put around a bench

Lolol this is lowkey amazing but I would HATE this!!!! Especially later in the game…. BUT as everyone said, totally your choice lol!!!! I would just hate it for seeds and stuff ? Like my husband and I play co op and we do it by season and then a million other categories, but I love it by season so if it’s spring 1 and you don’t know what to plant you can just open the spring chest and say “here are all my spring seeds!” Versus “ok go to orange for carrot seeds…”

That looks way better than whatever system I’ve got going on. I sort mine next to a workbench so it’s easier to craft
