I make Optimum Realism. I've been doing realistic PBR for 4 years as a hobby and the pack has done decent numbers, but I’m watching newer packs lean into “themed realism” stuff like medieval-fantasy realism, dark Souls-y realism and they seem to be hitting harder than what I'm doing.
I’m at a crossroads: do I keep pushing photoreal, lean themed, or try to thread both?
Genuinely curious what this community wants from a realistic pack in 2026. Some screenshots of my current work for context, just want honest feedback on direction.

Sorry, I don’t feel good about advising you, in any way. I have to say that cobblestone texture is great.
I’m not a massive fan of minecraft realism textures – there’s definitely a place for it. I always preferred to try out packs that made transitions and edges smooth and flat like cartoon-style. In the end, default is king, to me.

You’re definitely good at what you do and I hope you get the results you’re looking for

  2. Stick with what you’re doing. From what I see here your pack feels like Minecraft, just more detailed. Too many of these packs are overly stylised and look nothing like the original textures.

Don’t worry about having bet on it. Make the pack for *you* and if others like it then it’s a nice bonus.
