the speed boost sounds nice, but with hermers boots, it gives you a grand total of an extra mile an hour
and now that we have chillet, the set bonus is more usless than before
either buff the speed to compete with chillet, but that would probably be broken, or give it a new set bonus
I think it should be somthing similar to crimtane. my first thought would be instead of a healing boost, it would give more defence. but that would probably make hellstone not as good. my other thought was a damage boost to all weapons. mabey 12%
but i feel like that wont be that helpful either. its only about 2 – 3 damage more and might make other armor usless
I dont know what buff it should get, but it should rival crimson

The speed boost is not the real set bonus, it’s the 75% acceleration boost
This is already easily the best armor in pre hm, way better than crimson armor, it’s literally equivalent to the MAGILUMINESCENCE, one of the best accessories in the game, but better
The speed boost is actually a lot more noticeable than you would think. But I do agree, shadow armor should get a buff. Maybe dodge chance, similar to the brain of confusion?
When it comes to speed in Terraria, I honestly believe they should remove any soft or hard caps when it comes to scaling movement or mining speed. Let the players go ham!
speed boost isnt super massive in vanilla where dodging isnt important enough for it to matter, but its absolutely huge for modded difficulties
Speed boosts are almost negligible when using sprinting boots because almost nothing in the game buffs your sprinting speed. But Shadow Armor is a special case where it actually DOES buff sprinting speed. It’s the only thing in the game that does alongside the Mag.
What I think they devs should do is make more things buff sprinting speed, and have shadow armor instead give your attacks a shadowflame-ish effect or like another user said, a chance to dodge attacks.
You have not felt true speed until you’ve had shadow armor, magnumluminesence, terraspark boots, soaring insignia, and celestial starboard all reforged to quick, and all equipped at once.
The acceleration just hits different.
absolutely not, this armor is absurd. its a post evils tier armor that you can also get pre-boss. it rivals molten armor. the damage, speed, and acceleration is incredible
It purple and thus best armor 10/10
Why dont you just use a different accessory when equipping the Shadow Armor?
