I am excited to share a project from my childhood that I have finally finished! Now, I realize I am not the first to do this; I’m pretty late to the game. But here’s why I think this one is unique and why I always wanted to finish it:
- It’s a 100% complete recreation specifically from LeafGreen/FireRed, with a full texture pack from those games. Maybe I missed one, but looking online I didn’t see any recreations with texture packs. But it makes it infinitely better.
- Each and every detail was crafted by a single person (me!) who loved LeafGreen as a kid and held as closely as possible to the spirit of the original games. There are a surprising amount of decisions you have to make even though it’s a 1:1 recreation, and I’m super proud of how it turned out.
- It’s not just an empty map for you to look at; I added a few adventure map elements to it so you can actually play through the world, collecting Pokéballs and gathering key items which let you progress. It’s not at all the actual game (there are no mods) but it’s designed to be a fun trip down memory lane.
