Is there a more efficient or pistonless way to still activate the dispenser while keeping the lever here? Without any visible redstone in the barrier blocks. Second and third photo is my attempt

It works and I'm proud of it because I learned today you can update composters with redstone to update a piston but it's loud

    Better yet, put powered rails under the blue wool and next to the dispenser. The lever is powering it through qc, you just need to update the dispenser

    Put your observer clock under the dispenser and stair. This will update the dropper when it is QC powered by the lever.

    Edit: the composter isn’t needed nor doing anything in any of my designs or your design. It is actually the block being powered but not being solid that updates the adjacent blocks. Leaving the block empty or placing any transparent block works
