I've been having lots of fun using this weapon, it can be a normal melee weapon, stay on the floor like a electric fence stopping all ground mobs, and even be used a bit like a boomerang.
I killed Skeletron and Derclops with this weapon.
Are there any other weapon like this later in the game?

Upgrades to phasesaber in Hardmode

It’s upgrade, the Phasesaber, and the Keybrand post-plantera
it can be upgraded in early hardmode into the phasesaber, which also does the same thing, and there are lots of other weapons that have 2 ways to attack
There aren’t many unfortunately. But there is one close enough to the endgame called Keybrand! Otherwise you can craft the Phaseblade into a Phassaber later on for some extra damage
