Hi there, i have come to post this little test build.
I felt the itch again to play modded mc, but i wanted to have a rustic 'notso'-starter house that was typical of the period before i stopped playing mc as a teenager. A oak log and spruce plank combination with everything tacked and stiched on, mostly inspired by the youtuber grians build school video's back in 2018/2016. But before i start big and get annoyed by my lack of experience i wanted to try a little test build.
So here by my little rustic wooden windmill.
to note. im still on 1.12.2 i kinda wanna 'finish' and try everything here before i go to modern minecraft. the newer textures are the resourcepack '1.14.4 design by MES'.
i have used the following modded blocks:
- storage drawers, spruce trim. sadly i'm still on 1.12.2 but the new stripped logs blocks are something i would love to get my hands on once i'm do with this update, in the meantime i have this block as a replacement.
- Quack, Spruce trapdoor. Same story as the spruce trim block^
- blockcraftery, framed stairs. i'm loving the scaffolding look of this block more than the actual intended use for these blocks.
- chisel and bits, vanilla block combinations. Orginally i was never that fond of this mod until i realized you can make vertical slabs and add a lot of depth in a build without needing a 2 tick wall that characteristic of the rustic build style.
- Twilight forest. The tower wood blocks are mwah cheffs kiss a amazing looking block, even tough i have already finished this mod plenty of times i can not play without it, just for the beautiful blocks. Also the reapearing door makes for a pratical 3×3 door without the cumbersome redstone that is often required.
- Immersive engineering. The windmill and machinery. I see a lot of poeple building in a steampunk/dieselpunk aesthetic which yea obviously. But i do think that this mod also fits very neatly in a rustic, or a wildwest aesthetic which suprisingly, i dont see very often.
Anyways. I would love to hear some feedback, tips, idea's or just your experience with this building style. cya
