Didn’t he want to trademark skyblock (which means he gets a monopoly on how it is used), which was stopped by mojang? I see no heroes here

  2. I have a feeling that mojang’s dev team and marketing team are running on completly different philosophies

What a bunch of fuckin crooks, actually gross behavior but what else do we expect from multi billion dollar corporations especially when one is specifically known for their child endangerment with rampant pedos (that I know of, if there are more than Roblox Studio then I wouldn’t be shocked)

  4. I think the term skyblock actually might have become the generic name for a specific type of map. Similer to Q-Tips, Kleanex, ect.

Think about all the various ‘skyblock’ maps that aren’t the exact same map. Various islands, different items, even modded versions all use the term skyblock whenthey mean to refer to a floating island map.

Dude is arguing he should be able to trademark the title skyblock, but so far after it’s creation and the use of the name because ubiquitous with ‘floating island’ that they don’t have that great of an argument IMO

The original creator of the skyblock map, a user named noobcrew attempted file a trademark for the term skyblock in a response to malicious actors on the official minecraft marketplace earning money off of the false advertising of low effort rip-off maps. Noobcrew has always allowed changes made to the map as long as the map remained unmonetized.

Microsoft and a few other companies blocked this trademark and dragged out a lawsuit for 5 years, while not being open to any sort of discussion, in an attempt to pressure noobcrew to drop the trademark. In this lawsuit, these companies used dirty tactics and nonsensical evidence but still ended up winning. Microsoft has done this so that rip-off versions of the map could remain monetized on the market place, for which they earn a 63% split of the purchases.
