We're now in the release candidate phase and Mojang still hasn't used this opportunity to bring pixel consistent slimes and magma cubes to the game. The update is about the sulfur cube, so fix the other cubes just like how they revamped the Vex's look to match that of the allay.

Slimes and magmacubes specifically have many different sizes, while sulfur cubes are much closer to other mobs, having a normal or baby form. They would either need to add 4-5 different textures, wich wouldnt rven be pixel consistant fully, or leave it as is. This would also only apply to survival. If you add creative they would need many more. Its like if they had to make highres textures for every display entity size, not happening.

i see no issue at all with how the slimes and magma cubes already are tbh…. sulfur cubes are definitely the odd ones (big one’s face is too wide; little one looks too detailed)

  3. Tbf, the slimes are already pixel consistent, the bigger ones just happen to use the texture of the small one (1 pixel turns into 4 pixels). I agree the bigger ones could get some detail with a 24x and 16x texture instead of the 8x, but they’re also fine as is.

  4. That’s probably because slimes and magma cubes size vary while sulfur cube size is static, so no matter what they will be pixel inconsistent unless they remove varied sizes which I don’t think anyone wants.

  5. OP would be the kind of person that lines up a cat, a dog, and a pig, and ask them to be have consistent body traits because they are all mammals

these are “living” beings, they don’t need to be consistent

i get the creeper point, but flint exclusivity didn’t exactly delete skeletons either. balance can be multiple paths, not just one gatekeeper

Why do people care about pixel consistency? Imo some of the new baby models look worse because they lost detail for the sake of pixel consistency.
