Personally I cannot stand the fishing minigame, it is the bane of my existence. I’m decent at it after playing for so many years…. In my very first save file I was actually so intimidated by fishing that I almost exclusively used crab pots.
My newest save file I actually am trying modding for the first time and I got a mod that gets rid of the fishing mini game. You just automatically catch whatever you hook. It’s definitely the mod I have that’s the closest to cheating!!! But it puts fishing at the same level as Animal Crossing (the first game with fishing I actually did/completed) so I consider it Animal Crossing Style Fishing instead of straight cheating.
