Seriously this might be “new” good terraria tech
Re-Logic has revealed a new ranger-related spoiler for the upcoming Terraria 1.4.5.7 update, at the end of last month, but did you know we can already do this? At least… to some extent. And is it any good?

    The funny part about Ichor is that Golden Shower is easily the worst way to apply Ichor due to it having shorter duration than Ichor Flask, slowing down mana regeneration and not providing as big of a boost to Summoner-adjacent builds.

    the strat of going between ichor and crystal bullets has been my go to strategy for expert and master mode ranger for 8 years against the twins. Although I used 10-15 ichor bullets instead of 2

    im so glad they removed whipstacking because pressing the 2 key for more dps is so annoying. filling my entire inventory with singularly stacked bullets is really cool though!

    Stacking venom and ichor arrows useful with phantasm as you don't want to stop shooting it (you'll just lose attack speed) and it benefits a lot from ichor debuff

    Or, just swap between a bow weapon and a gun weapon, and you can get the benefits of one bullet and one arrow without inventory setup! /hj

    I remember on 2.2 mobile the clockwork assault rifle was CRAZY fast, like I think around as fast as the chain gun and I used it all of hard mode

    I’m making a video with a lot of editing and the amount of elements you have on screen at any one point in time is impressive. I felt an urge to minimize and look for another video around three minutes 30 seconds into the video, although I kept watching all the way through.

    In my opinion, if you're gonna go through all that trouble and inventory space to make a setup like this, you'd be much better off finding alternative ways of applying debuffs like magic weapons or flasks with melee weapons or whips, or other ammo options. If you want to apply ichor before crystal bullets, you have the option to use ichor darts or arrows too.

    I remember thinking about doing this years ago but never actually did because between cleaning my inventory, setting up the ammo and running out of slots I thought it just wasn't worth the hassle or even the potential dps gain (and honestly I still do). However, the idea of alternating ammo always sounded like a good idea in general and a very doable thing in vanilla too, maybe not even needing a specific item to do so but rather just some ranged weapons config that allowed you alternate between three types of ammo based on the ones you have in your inventory, or even a toggle that changed the ammo slots between "queue" (normal one), "sequence" (shoots a bullet from each ammo slot up to down) and "random" (take a guess), and honestly given the amount of qol the devs have been doing with these past few updates I think this sort of thing would fit just right in
