Idk why they made it kill you whenever you shoot. they could've just had you shoot a projectile like how the daedelus works but instead of stars it launches one nuke. this also gives you time to leave the blast zone somewhat.

you might be able to make two houses with that wood then wait for the guide to kill enough enemies to get enough money for the merchant then you can buy a copper axe and just fish for a swordfish and a reaver pickaxe
