Simulating the Apocalypse in Terraria

3 months ago me and my friends tried to defeat Terraria before the apocalypse destroyed our world and we failed only managing to kill the AA cthulu so I decided to try this again but I Enlisted the help of my Discord server to see if we could win with sheer numbers alone

But I also added a 4-Hour timer so me and up to 50 other people have 4 hours to defeat Terraria as the apocalypse destroys our world when the world begins an arm of lumberjacks clear every tree in sight as soon as physically possible how several of my viewers managed to join the world

Even before I did is beyond me but there were at least some trees left for me to chop down and collecting this wood is vitally important as the surface is the first thing to go in the apocalypse we only have 5 minutes before meteors destroyed the ground and lava begins

Melting blocks slowly leaking down into the cavern layers I came to the desert where a boatload of vultures are waiting I was hoping to chop down some Cactus and get cactus armor or a sword but there were almost no cactuses and one of the vultures killed me at this point

There isn’t hardly enough time to explore much of the surface and my viewers who have survived longer have probably already cleared most of the surface of its resources anyways so I make the decision that it’s time to start mining at the moment I didn’t have a single torch though which makes things

A bit difficult no slimes had spawned and we had no Merchants so I was stuck in the dark until a few viewers decided to join me with torches in hand it wasn’t long until golden chest came into view and it’s a situation like this where you and several other people see a

Single chest that you have to wonder whether you’re going to be nice or claim it all for yourself sharing is a nice thing to do so when I managed to get the chest first I claimed every piece of loot for myself a cloud in a bottle so

Early is really nice and the apocalypse is just about to start oh the yeah the lava’s definitely it’s about to start falling guys all you all the surface are going to get blown away in hindsight mining a tunnel straight to the underworld might not have been the best

Idea as lava could easily pour down it like it had last time I tried this challenge but we’re just trying to get as far underground as possible along the way some of my viewers would block off the path and I think this was meant to stop the water from falling with us and

Then drowning us I would never have thought of doing something like that huh sure seems convenient though those blocks never lasted long as those who were on the other side quickly mine those blocks that had been placed but maybe some of those blocks were placed just to keep

People like me away as my viewers found Loot and if that’s the purpose it was definitely effective I was quite focused on making the elevator only occasionally breaking off to break a heart Crystal or flue to chest but I was dedicated to mining this thing even as my viewers were not be worried

Beue the gosh D elevator it must never stop doing well guess I’ll have to abort mining so I don’t get left behind I’m the content creator here I can’t be the weakest person in the server I managed to collect enough amethyst for a hook and galve happened to have an anvil so I

Was probably one of the first people with a hook which feels good it’s events like these though that make you hesitant to make crafting stations since all your resources are so valuable and you don’t want 10 or more anvils or furnaces or what have you just lying around it’d be

Such a waste of our very limited resources I got my first heart Crystal since the other ones I’ve seen were taken out from under me and then I left spungle to fight a skeleton alone like the benevolent YouTuber I am who spungle is that you saying you need help yes you

With a skeleton you’re fine you got this I believe in you I found some gold and got a magic mirror and then spent several minutes mining towards this glowing mushroom a few blocks away mining on the server feels like it’s at half speed for some reason maybe I just don’t usually do

This much mining with a copper pickaxe I have no idea but at last I made it to the glowing mushroom field where I got my hands on gravitation potions last time I tried this the apocalypse destroyed the sky islands completely before me or my friends managed to get

Any loot from them and now that I had this and a magic mirror I was hopeful I could get something from the sky islands this time I just wanted to do a few more things underground first such as loot this mushroom chest with shoe spikes and then accidentally waste a wormhole while

Checking out where everyone was on the map but I guess this brought me to another glowing mushroom so I thought I might as well assist in looting it I mined to a spot with two chest and it was just me and a cool guy and since he

Was the first one to find this place I let him choose his chest mine had an extractinator in it and I noticed another golden chest just beyond the glowing mushroom and sure enough it had another excavator for gosh darn RNG okay finally time to check out the surface

Where apparently the block you spawn on is a multi block hey Zarah we got time to see if there are islands left in the sky the first island is barely still in existence and the chest has already been looted which is so sad but I press on anyways hopeful that all the islands

Have not been looted already thing is too searching the skies is so dangerous because meteors can fly in from out of nowhere and kill you but I managed to make it to another Island and found a shiny red balloon which probably makes me one of the only people if not the

Only person in this event who will have one of these better than that though a few people had set up our base of operations way to go guys way to set this up this is so nice especially having the merchant so we can buy torches getting gel was pretty tough we

Also now had a place with crafting stations so there’s less of a reason for us to waste our resources on making more of them with the base done I figured the only thing to do was to continue mining the elevator I was doing it alone which

Was very sad and I was making some decent progress until I reached the lava layer and the lava in my way greatly slowed my progress and lava started falling down the elevator leaving me with no option but to return home we are now about 45 minutes into the event and

We haven’t beaten a single boss but I have two eye summons and I think it’s time to do some preparation me and several others got to work on making an underground Arena and even with the help it took absolutely forever I must have gotten used to having much faster mining

From doing something I don’t know it took quite a while and then we also needed to coax everyone on the server to join in on the I fight since this is expert mode meaning the boss will scale for every player so if any person is not helping that’s a massive amount of slack

We’ll have to make up but I guess we’ll just have to do that because it’s turned to nights and we need to ensure we can kill this thing before the day rolls around let’s go set it on fire We need debuffs oh yeah this is definitely expert this is

Definitely expert mode I wasn’t actually sure the world would be an expert making these servers in the past has shown me that the settings don’t always work but it definitely did work this time and now me and most of the server is attempting the first boss fight While most people

Have a little more than or bows including me but we did have one person assorted who apparently is actually good at this game and is kitted out with full jungle armor fledgling Wings a shotgun and I’m sure plenty more and this wasn’t even the worst of it the bed the thing

That we rely on to prevent ourselves from spawning on the destroyed surface was mysteriously broken somebody broke the bed wait someone broke the bed someone broke the bed who broke the bed trolling well there’s clearly a sabur in our midst and I suppose that’s to be expected with this many people

Maybe we should just let the apocalypse destroy everything clearly there is no hope for Humanity in our desperation one person managed to break off from the fight and make a new bed hey we’re over halfway over halfway it’s looking like we actually stand a chance at winning this time or

At least I thought that until the eyes started to actually Dash and killed a bunch of people in seconds the bed Thief had also destroyed the bed again before this meaning all those people spawned back on the surface and had to rush to return to the fight we had to survive in

The meantime thankfully the bed was returned after perhaps a threat or two and good thing too as I suffered my first death as we neared killing the eye but that health bar is a little bit of a lie due to its massive Health pool we

Kept pecking away at it and I died one more time and we watched as that health bar slowly went down so low use for soow come on a little more I did some damage I did some damage come on for context the fight against the eye took seven real life minutes bringing us

To just over an hour there’s no way we’re beating the game at this point so let’s adjust our expectations with a new goal the wall of fresh is the objective now he is a fresh wall and he must be responsible for the world’s destruction by being overly fresh now that we have a

Much more achievable goal let’s continue but not before a moment of honesty from one of my viewers I haven’t watched you that much see but any yeah I’m not going to lie I only pop into live streams yeah my friend T me into joining the hideand-seek thing I’m so I feel so

Betrayed my heart and soul have been crushed but it’s okay we’ve made our way to the crimson and after one Victory against a boss how much harder could the brain really be we broke one heart on our way in and the Crimson is actually pretty large and yet Untouched by the

Apocalypse I made my way to another heart not even considering the fact that it’s highly likely someone had already broken one as it would turn out somebody had making this the third Crimson heart resulting in the brain spawning with only me and maybe one other person hanging around I forgot the creepers

Floating around the brain also scaled with him in hindsight that makes a lot of sense but in reality creepers scale to somewhere between 20 and 30 players is absolutely insane that fight failed and immediately two hearts were broken for their lovely drops I was one of them

And was happy to get my hands on an Undertaker jums Park made a house just below the crimson and placed a bed and this false sense of security was enough for me to decide it was time to LEAP straight into another brain fight I wonder if I can break another heart

Without him summoning let’s find out no wait for me wait hold on let me check dude it be it did suon let’s well the more you know I died immediately but I had faith in my viewers everybody is dying this whole fight wins a whole lot more poorly than

The aak cthulu the massively buffed creepers took several minutes to finally reach a point where we could kill them the second form of the brain would be much easier for us to beat since he’d have a hard time hitting multiple people those creepers right now hit like a

Truck and have the health of a brick wall and with so many of them people were constantly dying we were being carried by just a few players primarily assorted who had all the good loot when the creepers finally fell we were left with the brain and those of us who

Remained managed to take him down after a 10 minute fight and the timing couldn’t have been any better lava was starting to pour down the Crimson caves and would soon drip into the arena but we don’t need it anymore so we took our supplies and left in theory we could try

To take down the wall of fresh at this point but with the brain taking t 10 minutes the wall would definitely take even longer and there’s no way we’d be able to kill it before it reached the opposite side of the world the dungeon might be the best place to go since

There are several good weapons we can get in there but before that we need to employ some anti- apocalypse strategies to protect our base and Aid in our exploration now that the brain was down and some others could make the evil pickaxe allowing us to mine hellstone I

Guess this could also get us some good weapons but since hellstone drops lava and lava duplicates and melts blocks it’s very hard to mine and apparently we were having trouble finding obsidian I struggled quite a bit just getting to the underworld safely and one time when

I did I got two magma stones in a row it doesn’t really do a whole lot for us but I just thought it was interesting I managed to mine a bunch of Hell Stone and another person managed to craft a lava proof bug net which is absolutely necessary with that we can catch

Critters down here and then go lava fishing for water bombs or the lava shark both of which can help us tremendously with surviving the apocalypse probably any Critters were spawning though so we built a house in the Underworld since having NPCs around increase the spawn rates of passive mobs

Once it was built though I might have made a minor mistake we can’t get uhoh uhoh uh uhoh uhoh uh well once it went away galv and I got to work on lava fishing got a crate all well that didn’t take too long and sure enough he got wet

Bombs which would allow us to now purchase dry or wet bombs since once you have some in your inventory you can buy them from the demolitionist these bombs are a bit expensive and our money keeps getting burned in lava for obvious reasons but I was able to buy enough to

Be dangerous and so were some other people but with these to defend ourselves we would be able to protect our home but can we do it in time we have now hit the 2hour mark and we have no known path to the dungeon but the Goblin Army did start to approach and

Getting the goblin Tinker would help so much with our Mobility I wasn’t sure the Goblin Army could even spawn underground and that could be a problem we waited for a little bit and they did spawn but I didn’t notice any goblins anywhere turns out a sorted went to the surface

Or maybe it was someone else I don’t know but the Goblins were spawning and funnily enough they were dying more to the apocalypse than we were the whole event actually went by quite quickly what with the goblins just spawning in the lava and not 2 seconds after the

Event ended I found the goblin tinkerer only problem is I don’t have any money left after spending it all on dry bombs thankfully Jem spark did have some money and he bought the server a tinkerer’s workshop the traveling Merchant also spawned but then he wasn’t at our base

So where could he be he’s at the house I made at the the bottom left of the oh sorted was that you who made that over there I made it well that’s rough and on my way to see if he had anything interesting somebody accidentally dropped another voodoo doll into the

Lava knowing there was no points I decided to teleport home the apocalypse can only happen in 1.4.3 at the time of this video and I was wondering if teleporting home kills you I seem to have some memory of a time in this game that you could teleport home without

Dying during the wall of fresh fight but maybe that’s a false memory I I don’t know it doesn’t work in 1.4.3 I have now dis rediscovered King Slime spawned and I think someone summoned it and that fight took a while but was easier than the others for obvious reasons I did some more

Exploring and we were really not making any progress that we need to be making but that’s not the worst part of it because somebody decided that the content we were currently making wasn’t exciting enough and they LED some of the lava into the direction of the base oh my goodness why dry No you guys doing uh we’re making cont content good answer this is also the worst kind of lava in the apocalypse when there’s a long thin layer of the stuff and it’s not a full block so water and dry bombs have a hard time removing the lava but it still duplicates it’s a

Real pain and you have to pull it together if you’re going to stop it from spreading and thankfully that’s what we managed to do saving our base and now we’re 3 hours in only 1 hour left to kill Skeletron loot the dungeon and then take down the wall of fresh the odds

Might not be the best but after a mining session we came to the dungeon all right does somebody want to make a like get a bed and then make a uh or Wormhole to me and Zara only got we need a bed and then

Wormhole to us so that way we can get a bed up at the dungeon we got the bed and made an area for the lava on the surface to pool the dungeon’s exterior was entirely melted and I’m not sure the old man can even be found anywhere what

Happens when the dungeon is gone can you even beat the game anymore I don’t know I’ve never encountered a situation like this before lava also falls really slowly and I wasn’t interested in waiting forever for it to fall we’re on a time crunch okay you know what this is

Uh getting a little too slow we’re doing it we’re doing this the fast way now okay well when I get back after dying the apocalypse gives you 30 seconds of lava immunity that way if you spawn on the surface before making an underground base the lava doesn’t just

Spawn kill you so that let me get to the surface but gem spark was going about it in a much worse way um uh uh gem Park that lava’s going to destroy the house uhoh no I guess lava Falling Slowly can be nice sometimes since we

Were able to stop the lava just before it burned up our base and ended the run right then and there our only problem now is that we have to fight Skeletron on the surface since there’s no time to make an underground Arena and this means meteors will be falling on her heads

Midf fights and what platforms we made we’re quickly Blown Away by those very same meteors as well and a certain viewer wasn’t exactly making things better fun fact lava shark can go like 80 m per hour on um that’s pretty Speedy on in lava so I’m using the bottomless lava bu

Oh so you’re just ruining the world for everybody else one person tried to make a sky bridge to protect the arena below but that just resulted in lava pooling above us until a meteor broke the bridge resulting the lava pouring on our heads in massive clumps I should have made

Sure everybody understood this because the skybridge seemed like a good idea at the time but I failed to really make it clear to everyone some of us understood and began making a platform Arena since meteors won’t blow it up because they have nothing to hit and lava won’t pool

On it KN was quickly approaching and someone had boxed the old man in to keep him safe until it turned to night we expanded the arena as much as we could and summoned Skeletron the fight was going okay at first but somebody had continued building the sky bridge above

Us and the lava was cooling it was only a matter of time until it melted through the stone and made our Arena a death trap and sure enough that’s exactly what happened little by little more and more lava began falling until it created obstacles in several areas of the Arena

We took down the hands but then the lava took up half the screen it was impossible to move about freely and with Skeletron High defense and large Health pool we didn’t stand a chance of killing this thing before they rolled around and when it did Skeletron killed us all and

Officially put an end to our run the timer had hit it’s 4 hours we had failed we still messed around a little bit and half hardly tried to kill the wall but someone spawned it right below the elevator meaning there was no chance we could kill it fast enough it was fun

But it really was over maybe someday I’ll get a crew together and we’ll actually beat the game like this not just the wall of fresh but that wasn’t this run so I’ll see you next time oh no no hey thrin hi hey uh Merry Christmas oh Merry
