No commentary, writing a script still but wanted to just push this out cause I’m super proud of it. I started TASing this game back in 2018 but it’s taken a long time to reach a stable build/setup that allowed for reliable frame consistent replay over this long a time window while not modifying any of the underlying gameplay elements. I’ve been working on this particular run in earnest from mid-August 2021, so 2.5 months for 305k frames.
There are definitely some scuffed pieces that’ll probably be clear to those in the SDV speedrun community. I’m moderately annoyed with the need for some blatant backup strats late (THANK GOODNESS FOR THE CRAB POT), but rerolling 70k frames isn’t guaranteed to save time given how everything shook out. My guess having done this now is that sub 80 is doable, but would require a mind-numbing level of planning/resets and seed grinding that I am not prepared to do (resets at the end of this run take ~4 minutes to recover from…)
I’ll save most of the explanation for a commentary version because there’s quite a lot to cover. Huge shoutout to everyone in the Stardew Speedrun/Challenge run communities, in particular a big thanks to BlaDe and the Map Predictor which I’ve used regularly during routing and development of this TAS.

This got way more views than I expected so here is a quick FAQ while I continue writing up notes for my commentary stream:
What the heck is this? – Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS) for Glitchless Community Center %, attempting to finish every bundle in the community center as fast as possible. This is done with a custom build of Stardew Valley 1.5.4 that I've wrapped to allow me to provide frame-by-frame advancing/input replay. These tools are CLOSED SOURCE, as they'd require me to redistribute the game to effectively let others use the tools as is (as there are multiple areas where I need to wrap the normal control flow to allow the TAS replay to work).
Why are you walking in bed/why is it raining every day? – Step manipulation – many events like rain, luck, and whether a villager gives you a gift are decided during the overnight save, where a random number generator is seeded with (among other things) the player's current step count. This run makes heavy abuse of this mechanic to force rain on basically every useful day to water crops, luck for all mining days, and gifts from Robin who ends up giving us about 800 wood in the mail.
Why are you waiting in the mines? – Mines floor seeding – when you enter a mines floor, the generation of stones/etc is determined by the second on which the new floor is generated. I'm waiting to roll for a good floor that either has a free ladder or a rock nearby that I can break to spawn a ladder.
What on earth is that fishing slide? – I animation cancel during the cast animation, which leads to some really wonky behavior. This has no real practical purpose (I guess it doesn't advance step count…) but I have 2 in-game hours to kill and nothing productive I can do… it's dumb looking though so there's that at least
30 seconds of pausing in skull caverns? – I pause the frame before the in-game clock is about to tick. On a tick, if you're in the mines you can either get a monster spawn or a fog spawn (or nothing). Here I'm waiting to get a serpent to spawn that has a rabbit's foot in its drop list.
Why dog not cat? – dog >> cat despite the dog being 3-4 seconds slower. Let's call it RNG manip…
Perfection when? – kill me, though I'm interested in routing other categories, I need to get Blade to dust off his marriage notes😎
yeah thats how i woulda did it
the farmer moving around while holding the fishing rod 😭😭😭

I like how Robin were trying to be friendly to the mysterious farmer by initiating the conversation with “Hey, have a nice walk?”
Only to see the guy silently swinging his pick axe in the speed of light and pass out in her house right after she finished her sentence.
Wouldn't it be faster to go to floor 50 for the solar essence then fish up the fore quartz?
really amusing to see a tas struggle with fishing like humans do xD
2:34 even in 0.25 speed this is crazy fast, heck even in FRAME PER FRAME it's crazy fast
7:57 doesn't adopt the dog unsubscribed disliked downvoted denounced
(i know it probably messes up the rng)
55:57 9 frames were skipped, weird, it goes from 198015 to 198024
1:06:27 >weird new villager comes to shop
>fills bag with hundreds of stones and wood in a fraction of a second
>talks so fast it sounds like telepathy
>sets two coops to be built in the farm in seconds
>hits ground with pickaxe until tiredness takes over
>passes out on ground
>refuses to elaborate
>does not leave, have to call the doctor to rescue them
I watched this video pausing and going frame by frame so much that it took me around two hours to get to the end
Awfully rainy farm. =D
Sprinklers : im on holiday
i love how he even simulated taking a pee break at 1:00:11
PS(i know it was actually luck manipulation)
Explanation of the used glitches would bei nice
The planting, mining, and tree cutting reminds me of tablet controls where it auto switches tools
altho i have 150 hours in to game and studied the wiki, i have no idea whats going on half of the time lol
You are a citizen of Pelican Town in Stardew Valley. You hear that a new farmer moved into town. Immediately afterward, it begins to rain for nearly a month straight. You have never met him directly, but you see him sprinting around town sometimes.
Okay, so pelican town is close to Seattle.
How the hell did you get so many rainy days?
Gets house upgrade and doesn't immediately move bed to door:
''He's not coming back…….IS HEEEEeeee?''
Why does he only water 2 plants?
What is the seed of this farm?
it was the weed-seedyest and rainiest year ever recorded 🙂
I know it’s a TAS run but seeing a player catch a Sturgeon on their 2nd cast of a game file and a Pufferfish on their 3rd is WILD to witness. lol
So a reaction vid by some random gets 1.1mil views but the actual vid has 190k, Interesting

Im sorry but you never EVER get that many mixed seeds when killing weeds
How did you make your TAS?
Who is tas and why are they good at so many games?
Can you do a tas for the missing bundle?
Starting at 1:10:30 ish, if you animation cancel milking on a cow, you can increase its friendship to max in 1 day. Weird glitch I discovered the other day
