I’m Spending an ENTIRE YEAR on One World | March Edition

I believe that sarian often speedrun the game and never take their time on the worlds I want to change that so over the course of a year I would be playing on this one world with each stage of progression being blocked until the start of a new month I’m doing this so I

Can seriously take my time on each stage of Terraria Calamity mods progression and see what it has to offer so for the month of March I am only allowed to defeat Skeletron Queen be deerclops and slime God otherwise I can make no other form of progression this is what

Happened March is definitely an interesting month considering how there aren’t really any major progression marks opened up for us however killing Skeletron will give us access to the dungeon as well as to actuators which I’ve been longing for so I can complete many of the builds I have begun but

After spending 7 hours trying to defeat the dungeon guardian last month let’s just say I have some more masochistic ideas coming into uh this month with one of them being inspired by comments from the last video this brings us to the dungeon it’s night but I’m not going to

Summon Skeletron just yet and no I’m not killing yet another dungeon guardian first I got to sleep until the night is just about over what I want to do is figure out what Skeletron is like during the daytime after all if I can kill a dungeon guardian then I just might be

Able to beat daytime Skeletron the only question is what could they have changed about him during the day they made the dungeon guardian significantly faster than vanilla and made it shoot one shot homing skull so maybe Skeletron will be even worse all right here’s the we’re going to run our little experiment here

All right all right Skelly boy what do you what do you want to do when it turns the day buddy what you what you want to do huh oh actually go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go

Learned what the skulls might be like but even without knowing that this battle would seem to be entirely winnable the battle was a bit of a mess without a lovely Arena so I set up a very basic one with platforms I want to add a bunch of stuff and make it so the

Dungeon entrance is significantly larger I’ve got what I think is a cool idea but the only problem is that the idea will require actuators and we don’t have those The Lunatic cultist will still be fought in the dungeon so creating a large Arena here will at least have some

Use of course once the simple Arena was finished I went to bed to sleep the rest of the night away but came a bit too close close to the morning uhoh uhoh got to go fast oh I did not get myself enough room for thato okay Okay you oh look oh it’s the Dodge okay okay that saved us that saved us get away from me get away all right you should be should start shooting skulls Wait he’s not going to shoot skulls at all hold on Bully the hand bully the hand we get the hands down he become so much easier no not the Goin Army no no no no don’t you dare spawn in the middle of this yeah he doesn’t shoot skulls

What oh he does wait what was what was that what what just happened Skeletron my boy what are you doing turns out calamity or revengeance mode or something doing with this mod makes it so Skeletron teleports and shoots a wave of skulls whether this replaces his

Typical pattern or not I’m not sure but if it does this new pattern is significantly easier to dodge I’m just a bit concerned because for all I know these skulls will One-Shot me so even if they’re easier to dodge any one mistake could end the entire battle there’s also

Another problem I didn’t count for gatron has more than twice the health and does not take extra damage from crits worse than that I forgot to bring the extremely fast Rogue weapon I used against the guardian the one I have is fine but this is very slow going I tried

Switching to my mage build even switching the luxurous gift to this one while using the aquaster I felt it might be better or at least on tier with the Rogue set for now I just wanted to use it because I was so excited to get the aquaster against Skeletron after finding

That little sequence break last month it might be night again by the time wait wait wait what happens if it’s first night again will he still be enraged wait what happens if still this was also right about the time that I learned how much damage the skulls do when I’m hit by

Them he doesn’t he doesn’t one shot with the skulls let’s go and right about at that 10minute Mark so we’re almost halfway guys we’ve almost made it halfway to killing Skeletron it’ll be great I ended up switching back to the Rogue set it does at least as much damage as the Mage set

If not more while also not consuming hundreds of Mana potions it wasn’t long after that switch that Skeletron decided to make a switch of his own he got his arms back oh no no no no no no no hold up hold up hold up that’s actually a threat that’s actually a

Threat if you don’t already know these hands are not a threat because they one shot which they don’t but they add a lot of Skeletron to get hit by and the knockback could stop my movement and get me hit by the head he pushed me off of

The arena and I nervously beat away at the hands until they exploded and this gave me the room I needed to hop back onto the arena he then made my heart skip a beat because it felt as though this pattern had changed twice in a row

He teleported in front of me he blocked my path and I was concerned he would continue doing this yeah but afterwards it went back to being seemingly random so I guess he just got real lucky random spawns twice in a row but hey I finished the entire day and it’s about time for

Nights it’s night oh he doesn’t turn back he stays en rage even though it’s night again good to know man are you guys glad that I’m doing all these fact finding Miss missions that’s the word I was trying to use you know I I am blessing the terrari community with knowledge they would

Never want I’m nearing that 20 minute Mark in skelet is quite low on health I’m really hating this battle this entire time a battle this long where I can be one shot at any time really motivates you to take the battle seriously and it was right near the end

Of the battle that Skeletron started taking this much more seriously others fear daytime Skeletron I laugh at him he is nothing compared to his brother the dungeon guard oo but I’m still alive and Skeletron is really low 400 that was oh that was threading the needle right there and 150

And and 100 okay yeah we killed Skeletron in R let’s go well let’s go the most useless battle you’ve ever seen in your life let’s go baby oh dear all right the Goblins I forgot you guys were spawning now I have killed upgraded dungeon Guardians and daytime Skeletron who is strangely not

Real branching paths it just kept on moving along and the whole time I was waiting for the dungeon to open up am I the only one who like looking at this dungeon feels like it’s just yeah what is this dungeon what is going on something is wrong here the thing with

This dungeon too is that it felt more and more like the most d Dy dungeon I have ever seen I guess I should explain what I mean by that why are there so many cursed skulls get out of here why are there so many C skulls what what the heck okay I don’t

Mean because there were a lot of Cur skulls I just thought it was kind of funny what I mean by it being the most Dungey dungeon is how many sprawling corridors there are most dungeons have several or more open areas and tunnels that connect to one another in one way

This dungeon however would have several tunnels running parallel to each other but the connection being at the far ends or through some weird path there were very few open spots and overall it was very claustrophobic and dungeon crawly that on top of the strangely High spawn rates made this feel like a proper

Dungeon as opposed to the dungeon of Terraria I don’t know if that really conveys my feelings about it properly but that’s what I can think of to say clemity adds a whole new structure or section to the dungeon this is something for the ceaseless void which I’m pretty

Sure is post Moon Lord if I I remember right but this also was the last thing I needed to find in the entire dungeon like the dungeon’s over here but then it just whooped right here what is this actually what is this generation strange dungeon or maybe I’m

Crazy and this is normal it strikes me as weird but I guess I don’t usually hyper examine the dungeon like I am doing in this run now that I had all these bones from the dungeon I wanted to Crow the void bag but first I had to

Gather more jungle spores I don’t know what it is but this run more than any other on needing to fetch more stuff maybe I just didn’t go out of my way to gather jungle spores like I usually do or maybe I spent all of them on jungle

Armor for my mage build I don’t know but I I got the void bag there’s a Blood Moon which I really just don’t need right now but I did hang up a rogue aerospec armor as a memorial for beating the dungeon guardian I’m considering making another set and need extra

Feathers so I take advantage of the increased spawn rates to farm Harpy feathers only thing is that I don’t need aerospec armor quite yet as I’ll be heading into the abyss later and the Rogue armor I have right now gives me a bunch of Buffs for underwater and lets

Me breathe down there I also happen to get a spop plush while up here not sure where that came from but now that I think about it I have no idea what drops this thing it just kind of appears one thing defeating Skeletron does is make a bunch of the treasure

Chests in the abyss openable openable open is that is that right so I started cracking them open and came across this Rogue weapon called the lion fish it looks nothing like a real lion fish but I love the Sprite it’s pretty epic but more importantly this weapon inflicts a

Debuff that passively deals up to some 36 or so damage it’s kind of insane I also found the Herring staff I think this was once a broken summon but it’s no longer that good I don’t really know I I don’t pay that much attention to Calamity I don’t know what’s all going

On here what was good what was the meta but all I do know is that right now I get Three Little Fishies flying over my head and slaying my enemies for the cost of a single summon slot so I’ll take Three Little Fishies curious I tried going deeper to find more treasure but

Was crushed by the pressure I was about to wipe my hands of the Abyss but then I remembered this mermaid dude or merman whatever if you talk to him and select help he’ll put a bubble around you this bubble will pop the moment you’re hit by anything which isn’t great but it’ll

Allow me to go as deep into the abyss as possible and because I can get deep enough I was thinking could I possibly kill a Reaper shark these beasts have 300 100,000 health and I’m pretty sure are meant to be fought post Moon Lord but back in the day when Calamity was much

Younger I killed one of these things in early hard mode or maybe late pre hard mode because it got stuck on some blocks these days they don’t get stuck they go through blocks but that won’t stop me from figuring out a way to kill one of these legendary beasts before entering hard

Time and that would seem to be the theme of this week taking a very long time to kill things I shouldn’t be killing well I guess I should be killing Skeletron but I’m not supposed to do that during the daytime and I’m not supposed to be

Killing a Reaper shark in Pre hard mode thankfully the lion fish with its massive debuff effect is able to kill the reaper shark much faster than I was able to kill Skeletron well maybe not much faster but faster what is he do what is he doing what is what what is he Reaper

Shark what are you okay buddy Reaver shark what where is he going why what is he hopping for now I’m doing a lot less damage get back in the water there you go that’s a good Reaper shark I still call it rever like with the V I had no

Idea that these things were so bouncy guess all I need to do is make sure it stays in the water which was easy enough but you know how bosses have multiple phases in fact you know how Queen slime thomps around and then starts flying in second phase well would surprise you to

Know that this regular mob the reaper shark does the exact same thing oh what oh it flies now oh no oh no no no no no to my relief the shark wasn’t really moving very fast so I could very easily fly around the shark without being hit if it’s not obvious

This thing would absolutely One-Shot me we enter second phase about 7 minutes since bringing it to the surface and 5 minutes after the second phase began I had managed to bring the shark all the way down to 10% of its Health 30,000 at which point the shark began acting

Pointless and done simply for the sake of uh doing it to commemorate the moment I put the drops next to the aerospec armor and accessories used to kill the dungeon guardian I didn’t quite put all the drops there because he dropped 49 void Stone but only one can be put on

The item frame but that’s fine because the trophy room requires void Stone so I got to working on that I mostly had the thing done but still need more void Stone and Platinum Ore I tried mining for the stuff but there does not appear to be any uh platinum in this world

Which has me wondering how I got platinum in the first place I tried shimmering the gold into Platinum but I was right in thinking that Platinum shimmers to Gold but gold does not Shimmer to platinum still not sure why that’s how this functions it make much more sense that the two would just

Alternate between each other if you ask me but whatever I’m not the game devs I just need to find different methods of getting Platinum now I tried hellstone and crane but turns out neither of those can be shimmered but that’s when I remembered I had this handy little

Extractinator with over 300 silts on hand I checked the stuff in and got 12 Platinum Ore which isn’t a lot but it crafts plenty of walls I need per ore so like 20 * 12 gets me 240 which is more than I need this only leaves void Stone

Which has been hard to farm for in the past I could kill another Reaper shark I guess but no thank you for one reason or another the one other fish I know that drops the stuff is much easier to kill and is spotting much more often so I

Killed a couple of them for void Stone to complete the build and then wrapped up the week finishing the actuating of the tree next to the storage system and applying illuminum painting to the drill bit that still needs some fixing so watch this you want to see you

Potion called a zerg potion in Calamity which is basically a better version of the battle potion it will increase spawn rates enough for bunnies to spawn on mass which is what I need for unspecified reasons but in order to make Zurg potions I need purified G to get

Purified gel I need to kill slime God to summon slime God I need an overloaded gel to make that I need a demon alter and now I’ve had to make enough stuff with demon Alters at this point that I’d much rather have the demon alter in the crafting station uh thing introduced by

Calamity so I don’t have to keep stopping by the corruption to make a demon alter I need more demon ey and shadow scales to get that I need to kill the Eater of Worlds perhaps now you can see how the simple objective of collecting a bunch of bunnies for

Unspecified reasons has turned into a rather long Mission this meant I had to craft worm food to summon the worm and the fight wasn’t nearly as easy as I had anticipated ouch I need to stop walking directly into this thing I feel like I am doing no damage

Here this is not going as fast as I thought it would I guess I haven’t really leveled up much since um I I beat him eater you’re moving too fast moving too fast okay this took a lot longer than I thought it would oh come back here good

Sir okay now I had what I needed to make a demon altar except for one thing a demon altar that’s right to make a demon altar you need a demon alter I really should have checked that beforehand but now I have a demon alter and I made the

Overloaded sludge okay you know what I just feel like L let’s just fight slime God without even making an arena just see what happens you know it’ll be great it’s going to be ah it’s going to be great easy boss fight not a care in the world slime God more like

Weakling got him is actually going pretty well so far hold up is this actually going to be easy when is this going to get hard I I I know slime God isn’t that easy of a boss right right right oh oh oh I looked at chat oh that

Took so much of my health oh okay don’t let them touch me even for a second they do a lot of damage all right we got them almost half oh halfway there ah die slimed God all right we’ve almost killed them or almost got them halfway to not

Being alive so that’s good what is he doing okay oh there they’re starting to split oh there’s a flying one now all right there’s still oh adrenaline let’s go yes get pounded you slimy boy oh never mind I got pounded instead okay guess I’ll need an actual Arena then and it occurs

To me I don’t have a regular Arena yet I have a crimson and a corruption one but otherwise I don’t have a place to fight bosses and I’m staring at all these sky islands and get this idea in my head to make a massive Sky Island Arena that

Could be useful for all future non- biome specific bosses and don’t worry we’re getting to what I need the bunnies for this is just all part of the process all right TR trust the process and I’m addicted to Sky Islands and every one of these long form runs feeds this

Addiction even further it’s not healthy I can’t stop I need more clouds Rel logic I need more clouds well actually you’re adding that that slime cloud cloud slime you adding that that’s good making sky islands of my own is always the super double-edged sword too because I end up destroying the existing sky

Islands for the sake of making my own and I know I know what you’re going to say but through Orbin you can fish for clouds and the skylakes and yes technically you can but it’s not exactly the most efficient or fast way to gather Sky Blocks I often need thousands of

These Cloud blocks and Sky crates drop at most 100 so at minimum I’d need 10 Sky crates just to get 1,000 and that’s not enough plus Sky crates can be quite rare So I destroyed three Sky Islands to get the clouds necessary for this building project with 5,000 Cloud blocks

I got to make a sky island Arena I see you when you’re sleeping I know when you’re awake I know if you’ve been bad or good so get brainwash for goodness sake oh you better not pout you better not pout you better not pout you better not

The worst when it comes to trying to dodge him so maybe that’s why he hits like a truck because he’s not the hardest boss in the world of Dodge but I wouldn’t doubt he’ll get a lot harder than Dodge as we go we go along because he’s going to start separating and those

Will become uh widespread oh right before I hit it we took a hit we’re going down ouch okay now they’re just teleporting everywhere okay okay get swarmm too much I shouldn’t have been flying up that was my first mistake oh stay lower stay lower okay okay okay I think we we

Like oh no it’s not over yet at long last slime God has been defeated and so I crafted the Zerg potions I I needed this is all for bunnies and I slept to the day even though I’m not the smartest Terraria player in the world I’m fairly certain

Bunnies only spawned during the date and that’s that’s why I slept to it come morning I drank the potion all right zerged up and and and and gosh darn it this potion used to be better Zer potions used to make spawns like 50 times there was enemies everywhere it

Was quite overwhelming and surviving the duration of the potion was an accomplishment in of itself and I loved that about Zerg potions but ever since it’s been updated like a long time ago it hardly feels any better than regular battle potion but this does beg the question with drinking a battle potion

And using a water candle stack on top of the Zerg potions effects turns out they all do stack but now there’s so many enemies they’re killing the bunnies that do spawn so there’s one good I’m not collecting bunnies for any any kind of Nefarious purposes that’s I can

Guarantee that one that’s that’s for sure all right let’s grab another bunny the farming went fine I got 30 bunnies which I got a lot more but I suppose it’ll do because now I’m stuck with the blood moon and well that gets me a little sidetracked Blood Moons increase

I cleared the lower section ch down a bunch of trees as I was low on wood and started adding the lower section but I didn’t want it to look exactly like how everybody else makes their foundations instead this one I wanted to look a lot more like Roots so I added several

Pillar-like structures and on someone’s recommendation added water into the empty space which I love okay so so here hear me out hear me out these roots are exposed to the sunlight you see cuz there’s no wall behind them so they’re exposed to the sunlight allowing them to thus grow leaves or Moss and then the water Waters the and now time to start with my very well be the build I regret most see last year I didn’t decorate my elevator until near the end of the game so I didn’t hardly get to enjoy it and since the wall of fresh is next month I

Figured this would be a good opportunity to decorate the elevator I just need a design to start I expanded the size by another block so it’s three blocks wide instead of two and then I put in stone slabs on either side my chat is mowing over a few ideas with one in particular

Some reminding from chat I made stel armor for each of my builds well except for the M’s chest plate still still missing that I’m going to have to kill slime God again to make that as well the armor really doesn’t improve my stats that much in my opinion but I do love

That it set bonus greatly increases invincibility after taking damage it’s like a slightly better version of the cross necklace in preh hard mode and that’s just great in fact I might have to try to combine the cross necklace with this armor to see just how long I

Can be Invincible for I found the underworld lab while making the bridge and I finally finished the thing after an hour and a half probably the longest I’ve ever spent making hellbridge and it only spans half of the world I kind of want to make it across the entire

Underworld just because it makes travel a little easier I don’t really need it to be that long for the wall of fresh fight in fact I don’t need even half of the world it’s helpful for sure but I’m mostly just doing this because I can and because I like having one maybe next

Week I’ll finish the other half of the hellbridge I mentioned earlier that I needed to kill slime God once to get full satad shell armor for my mage build so I went off to do that the last two times I killed this thing I drank a bunch of potions for extra survivability

The second tier Army becomes available I’m pretty sure it’s after all three mechs in vanilla but what with how Calamity shifts progression with the mechs a bit I’m wondering if second tier will still come after all the mechs have been killed or earlier I’ll have to remember to check in with the tavern

To try using some of the Sentry armors just for a bit of fun later in progression I also made sure to use the deer clop sentries to help against the Army which was very helpful against the flying ones in particular I didn’t think any flying enemies spawned in tier one

Hellstone until the nice large Arena had been mined from there I threw over 600 lava bombs to fill it in a bit more of the space but it still wasn’t satisfactory I still need more lava but let’s see let’s let’s see if we can get the desert

This week we’re going to keep uh pretty brief because there’s only one real project that I got to work on and in the end I’ve only just laid the ground workor for the thing see what I want is a massive underground cave Village I want it to be highly detailed and I’m

Thinking of using Dynasty wood and living mahogany wood and leaves for the thing I’m also going to mess around with gem corns and water features I got big plans for this but it’s going to be a massive project and it’s probably going to end up being one that lasts the

Entire year in all likelihood this is also going to function as the central hub for exploring the underground in the future like I want to make tunnels that go horizontally across the entire world from here my initial problem is that the area I want this to be built in would be

Closer to the desert than I’d like it to be I don’t want to have to deal with the underground desert this build is going to require a massive amount of Mining and I was considering using more Dynamite but buying Dynamite is part of the reason I have no money well I

Haven’t had any for this entire run so instead I went off to this lab I discovered in the first month but never fully explored it would seem this lab has the Onyx X avator Mount which will help a whole lot with mining I’m kind of scared to try and mine it in the

Lava oh I got it oh I didn’t see any text over I was so scared I did not even get it and it was just gone gone forever it’s best with going in a straight line which isn’t the best since we need to do several layers but it’ll be fine it’s

It’s now water this has got to be a good Manhunt strategy or something to prevent people from teleporting to you at the ocean big brain moves going on here I did fill in the ocean a bit more and thus had to expand the sand column and

Then made sure we had a beach of sand not dirt back to the underground Village there was a bunch of desert in its way so I made sure to destroy all the blocks and the sand walls I then filled in the lower section with stone to cover up the

Gaps as well as make a perimeter around the entire Cavern Village I want Stone all surrounding it and it’s going to need to be here because I’m going to have to separate this whole build from the world to save it from the corruption and Hollow in the future granted it’s

Near the center of the underground so it’s inevitable that this will be affected somehow but we’ll be able to kill the twins next month along with the wall ofresh so we’ll hopefully be able to get the contaminator and purify whatever is affected the next step was adding several stone columns and

Connecting them all with the first or perhaps second floor to the Village I might fill in the area underneath this layer with The Columns of water or something there wouldn’t be anything filling it’ll just be a nature layer I guess the problem right now is that the glowing mushroom background is here and

I believe Terraria players often speed run the game and never take their time on their worlds. I want to change that.
