1:14 the "hovering inferno" reminds me of Optimus Prime for some reason.
The mob vote was always kind of dumb. First off we were told almost nothing about the mobs in question, making the poll a mostly blind vote based on little more than a line of text and a vague concept art. Add to that we were told that nothing that lost the vote would ever be in the game again… it's like throwing away two thirds of your game idea's every vote just because it lost by a few votes.
Kingbdogz is just complaining, as a game dev all the things he mentioned are just part of game dev, and most game developers do it without 100 employees. Mojang has no excuse.
To add salt to the wound, they add some of mobs to Minecraft dungeons.
Edit: Also Kingbdogz is great for giving context for reasons why.
Is it too hard to add all 3 or are they just too lazy?

mojang could have just dripfed the mobs to us in order of votes.
By this point just do a Valve and do community additions. Allowing the community to add the stuff not them.

i feel like i let my anger get ahead of me back then, to mojang im sorry, im also sorry the votes didn't work out. that said, in the end when my mobile game releases next year, i will learn from mojangs mistakes and for that i thank them.

Phantom would be cool if they occupied some specific places and were more damaging, instead of being everywhere at night when you don't sleep.

Why couldn't they just have the losers of the vote transfer to the next vote? That way the community still has a say on upcoming content and instead of being scrapped, the losers are just pushed back.

I feel like the Phantom has a very disproportionate amount of hate. For a mob that literally only appears if you go an entire 3 days without sleeping and requires no roof above your head, people act like it's some unavoidable obstacle that ruins all gameplay with no way around it. Creepers are infinitely more intrusive to gameplay.
I feel like people are far more mad about getting the specific thing they want rather than the phantom itself.
Should of had a mob vote every 3 years so you vote for your favorite mob to be added first, then the next year you would vote which mob will come out next, and then the last mob would be added
