  1. This may not be a hot take because it could just be true, but I don't hear anyone talking about it.

    Snake charmer flute is one of the best utility items in the game. It makes it so much easier to make floating arenas, make a floating opposite evil island if you don't care about its mimic drops or don't need a ton of its effect drops (cursed flame/ichor) and only care for its fish, it makes it easy to make a secluded surface mushroom house and lake. Yeah rope does the same, but snake charmer flute doesn't need to be taken down when you don't need it. It can also allow you to search for sky islands on small worlds without a grav potion.

    Maybe I just don't like having to take down placed rope because of how annoying it can be.

  2. My hot takes:
    Flintlock Pistol is disgustingly useless as a weapon. Practically a piece of paper compared to the weapons nessecary to access it.
    Mana Flower is way too OP for being post brain/eater. Should be post mechs or later because it removes the resource management that mage class should be.
    Same idea but for Worm Scarf. If you want to take less damage then play Normal Mode, Brain of Confusion is better for being more balanced in that regard. You either take all the damage or none and you don't permanently use it like Scarf, as an accessory SHOULD be.

  3. 1:08 speaking of weapons, my hot take is that there's some weapons that felt useless, especially on hardmode, like, who the fuck uses Ham Bat that drop form fairly rare enemies (Pigron) with rare drop (4%) as well

  4. Hot take: significantly lower the dps of melee weapon projectiles with long/infinite range or lower their defense to be closer to the rest of the classes. We already have an accessibility option, it’s called the Classic difficulty.

  5. Ranger stealth ability is the worst set bonus in all armor including the other class. Why slow down (vortex armor) or straight up stop moving (shromite) just for a lil damage boost that aint gonna last long cuz the enemies disintegrate you with your puny defence stat.

    Old ones army chest armor, chloro helmet, and boots combo have more damage boost than vortex armor without set bonus btw

  6. 12:20, on the topic of Summoner… if you use the Jojo Stands mod, The World can stop ANY boss dead in their tracks want to No-Diff Yharon in Calamity? "ZA WARUDO!" and you can at minimum beat his phase 1 without him ever getting to fight back, however Stands use your Summon Slot and are boosted by their own accessories and Summoner ones, and they cost 0 mana to use meaning any class can use a Stand without drawback, for example "Six" Pistols can help a ranged class, and Stands make Summoner in general a really easy class just a fairly short ranged one.

  7. Nano Bullets are useless at the time you can get them
    most enemies you fight post-plantera are immune to confusion, and those that aren’t immune are usually the type of enemies you won’t be spending specialty bullets, not to kill, but to get them away from you
    and if you want ammo to aim for you, Chlorophite bullets always home and don’t require a ricochet, and are available much earlier

  8. About your summoner rant, honestly most of the people who play summoner are the same people who play bullet hells, such as myself, they're so passionate about the class for the same reason they're so passionate about no hits.

  9. Recently i found a great appreciation for mini-shark while playing on zenith seed. It lasted with me even to WoF. Sure it was whatever against bosses but the knockback it provided on regular mobs was gorgeous. It kept all of them at bay, preventing them from rushing and gutting me. Especially on eaters of souls. I guess it’s because of the fast and consistent stream of bullets.

    Also I couldn't find boom stick cuz i was terrified of exploring the jungle

  10. The reason that the Minishark is so bad is due to its very low base damage. If the enemies have at least some defense, the Minishark will deal little to no damage per hit. This wouldn't have been an issue if defense worked similarly to damage reduction, but it doesn't, so the Minishark sucks. For long ranges just use the Musket or Undertaker

  11. I hate Pirates more than Martian Madness, because the captains deal a lot of damage at their progression, are spammy, and their projectiles are too damn hard to see.

  12. I give you TWO hot takes.
    1. Scott Lloyd Shelly's work on the Terraria soundtrack hasn't been the same since 1.4. What I mean by this is they are bad songs but as time has progressed they stopped feeding the biomes/bosses they were meant for less and less. for example underground jungle, now unlike the new 1.4.5 boss songs I believe I am the only one who shares this opinion but that song is just not representative of the underground jungle it sounds more like a PvZ horror game. and for the 1.4.5 boss songs they aren't bad songs I just don't believe they fit either boss they're for. now I can't say this completely for the eow's but I can't say for heartily, the one for the twins it sounds like it's just building up to something but there's no release,that's just my opinion though.
    2. Yo-yos we're just not implemented well. now I'm not calling them a rush job but in some areas they just weren't implemented well. My main example for this is the kraken. Now maybe I'm stupid or I just don't get it but why is a light blue yo-yo that has a fish related name in the dungeon and not just a Duke fishron drop it never made sense to me because nothing about the kraken screams dungeon, but that's all I have to say really.
    Edit: 2.5 This is a really stupid one but I never did like volcano as a name change for the fiery greatsword, volcanic greatsword would have been much better in my opinion.
