  1. I agree that Expert is better executed, but I don't agree that Mastermode is more grindy you don't have to grind for the best loot, you just make yourself to do it, that's all. I able to beat Duke Fishron with Necro Armor and Phoenix Blaster on MM, game is too easy on expert for any experience player and Master mode just gives an edge in difficulty, where you can't just tank bosses and carelessly move on the map. An an accessory slot btw. And adding new mechanics on attacks for bosses, would feel like unnecessary bloat. How much more unique attacks/phases you can add to bosses before they became stupid, like imps spawning Wall of Flesh or Bombs destroying Prime, what a cool increase in difficulty definitely worth? Deerclops got ruined with shadow hands on Expert mode from fun fight you can do early to RNG piece of shit, now imagine this but with way more bosses

  2. For me I think the biggest problem with master mode is damage done by non boss enemies. Some enemies I feel do way too much damage for how often they spawn; such as the giant turtles and the lunar invasion. Making the gameplay as you said, not challenging but more tedious.

  3. If I could change master mode, I'd make it 2x enemy health and 3x enemy damage, while giving bosses and enemies harder attacks to dodge. For example, retinazor could have a slower beam barrage that aims 2 lasers around the player on every other shot, requiring the player to be more intentional with their movement.

  4. I personally would have made loot less rare and plentiful to balance it out a bit. That way you can focus on creating the best gear and potions faster so you can go back to fighting bosses.

  5. Master mode is just boring ngl you dont really miss anything much just some items that make ur character look cool and some mounts that aren't woth it also tropyh's too also if you dont have the best loadout possible for enemies boss's u get sent to the fortnite lobby

  6. My main issue with master mode is that the bosses are basically the same, except they deal a bit more damage, so if you've already played expert mode, you'll end up overpreparing due to how tanky and annoying regular enemies are, and you end up steamrolling through a lot of the bosses. When I played master for the first time, I barely ever died to bosses, it was mostly just random enemies dealing way too much damage

  7. Yeah, I also wished they changed the AI a bit more, but seeing how I’ve played master for so long now, and simply cannot go back to expert.

  8. I beat Legendary mode a few times, and beat Master mode Hardcore on my first try. Master Mode was disappointing on release and shouldn't have been hyped up in the 1.4 trailer. It's not even really difficult, the fact some people apparently say "git gud" in response to people disliking master mode is laughable

  9. I like master mode because you can't have your cake and eat it too with the loadout and weapons. Also i like grinding and find it fun by approaching everything like a puzzle.

Valid points tho can't take that away

  10. I don't even think Master mode needed drastic AI changes, just small ones, because something like Calamity's Death mode doesn't usually have many large changes compared to Revengeance, but the small tweaks and ai changes are enough to make it more challenging in a more complex way without having giant AI overhauls like Infernum or like what Expert did for Classic.

  11. The whole point of mastermode is to be harder terraria, I dont care what people play as far as mode and difficulty. I agree with this video, I enjoy mastermide because it gives me more reason to explore and learn about the game.

  12. Brother, if you made your research you would know that it TRIPLES the chances of rare items
plus all you said expert mode does so why would they allow yet more items
    nonsense

  13. Normally I'd go full warding, but since in master mode you die in 3 hits regardless of how much defense you have I opted to go full crit chance and now things die fast.

  14. Master Mode honestly feels much lazier compared to expert mode with the lack of any meaningful changes like you said. Sure it's not as bad as the artificial difficulty of other games, but its still artificial. I think master mode could benefit from having some of the boss changes from legendary mode, although of course excluding the legendary stats.

  15. As someone who only ever played on master, I'll say that it just feels like a full experience? As for you needing to grind for the best gear , you can beat terraria with a f*cking lawnmower.

  16. I agree, especially with modded terraria.
i saw this the most with calamity post-ml (cause calamity does add extra difficulty for master mode, but only for the vanilla bosses) in which they just get A LOT more health and damage, so boss fights last like a solid 5 minutes.

  17. If i'm not wrong master mode does changes some bosses in a way that is not just higher numbers, but its not every boss and the changes aren't noticible

  18. its not realy borring
    its just hard
    the intended was
    classic for a tutorial
    expert is the intended gamemode
    master is just harder expert
legendary is master on steroids where every cheese strat is the normal strat
