Terraria Magic Weapons Only, But There’s No Immunity…

In this video, I tried pitting Terraria using magic weapons only. However, I installed a mod that completely removes immunity frames. Therefore, any attacks that pierce through enemies will annihilate them. But that’s not all. This applies to me as well. Will I, as the mage class, be able to make it all the way to the final boss, Moonlord, and defeat it while only being able to use magic weapons? Or will the enemies and bosses overwhelm me? Stay tuned to find out. All right, I’ve got two weapons in mind to get my hands on first. It’s either going to be the wand of sparking or the Valhorn. But because I don’t have any bombs at the moment to blow up shadow orbs for the Vthorn, I’ll look for the wand of sparking. Let’s just collect some wood first. That should be enough. Let’s explore the left. And it looks like the corruption is here. So, I don’t think I’ll make it very far. Let’s give it a shot, though. No. Okay. Yeah, I’m not making it to the right side, then. And it looks like there’s some water here. So, that means there may be a sky island right above. Let’s go see first before I try to find the wand of sparking. Uh-oh. It does not look so good. I feel like I’m pretty high up and I don’t see any sky islands yet. Oh, harpies. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Leave me alone, please. Okay, I’ll go check it out later on. Maybe when I actually have a weapon to defend myself with. And of course, there are some vultures now. Oh my god. Please give me a break. Okay, I’ve made it past the desert. There is a chest down there that I want to check out. Wooden boomerang. Can’t use that. Another one here. Another boomerang. And I do see one more. Okay, the aglet. I’ll take that. Did I also just see the corruption on this side as well? Ooh, yes, I did. Okay, let’s see if I can make it past this side now. No, no, no, no. Please, please leave me alone. Well, crap. I’ve got two corruptions surrounding me. Oh my. No. Are you kidding me? I just started and I’m already pulling my hair out. Let’s give the left side another shot. There are just so many monsters spawning. It’s crazy. And I’ve made it all the way to the left side. So there are no one of sparkings here. I think I might just resort to finding some bombs and blowing up shadow orbs. That might be easier. So let’s go explore this cave right here. And hopefully I can find some bombs. Wait, is that a chest down there? Oh no, no, don’t kill me. At least give me this. Okay, at least I got some tungsten bars. But I am probably dead here. Yep. No chance of escaping a freaking tomb crawler. Okay, it is just way too dangerous to be exploring right now. There’s just way too many monsters. So, I’m just going to hold up until the night ends. And I might as well just start on the elevator. Ooh, gold chest. Please be something good. All right, band of regeneration. I see a mushroom chest over there. What’s it going to be? Okay, I’ll take the platinum bars. I’ll turn them into the platinum pickaxe. Found my first life crystal. Another chest. Yes, thank you. I won’t lie, I was kind of losing hope until I saw this. Now I can outrun some monsters. That is 200 health. Oh, okay. Found the suspicious looking eye and the magic conch. Is that a sapphire? Oh, it is. Give me that. And now I have enough for the sapphire hook. Okay, I think that’s enough exploring for now. I have 44 bombs. That should be plenty. There we go. And I’m also going to craft some items like the platinum pickaxe and sapphire hook. All right, let’s head into the corruption to blow up some shadow orbs. And I’m dead. Okay, this might take a while. First one is always going to be the musket. Okay, come on. I think I have to teleport cuz there is no way I’m surviving this. Oh, wait. I just used the magic hunch. So, I can just skip through all the way to the right side. Ooh, maybe. Can I actually get the one of Sparky now? Oh my god, there it is. There it is. Hello. So, you were on this side all along. Okay, let’s test this bad boy out. 3 2 1 Oh, okay. [Music] So, it hits two times in a single shot. Originally, it would only hit once, but of course, the Vilethorn is just way better. So, let’s go back. But now, I have a weapon to get rid of monsters instead of teleporting away. There we go. Second one. Follow her. Looks like I will have to summon the Eater of Worlds, but there’s just no way I can defeat it right now. Let’s just pray that I can get the Valkorn. Here we go. Yes. Teleport. Where’s my thing? I could not find my recall potions. Am I blind? Oh, they were right here. Right in the middle. Okay, I died. But that is fine because now I have the Vthorn and has adept on it. So that’s negative 20% mana cost. Here we go. Oh my. 85 damage per second. That is juicy. I am going to have so much fun with this. You know, I should probably take this time to collect some fallen stars because it is night time so that I can raise up my max mana. Okay, I think it just turned back to day and I’ve only collected nine fallen stars. So, that’s enough for just one mana crystal. Okay, now that I have a really good weapon, I’m going to head into the jungle to farm some materials for the jungle armor and to max out my health as well as find some more accessories. Oh my god, 306 damage per second. Oh, nature’s gift. Nice. I barely saw that. That’s going to be 300 health. Oh, gravitation potions. That’s going to help me find sky islands a lot easier. Oh, yes. Anklet of the wind. And because I have the egglet, I can make lightning boots later on. All right, I think that’s enough now. Got everything that I need. Let’s head back up and craft the jungle armor. Jungle hat, shirt, and pants. Nice. 19 defense, 160 max mana, and the set bonus gives an additional 16% reduced mana cost. So, pairing it up with the adept Valthor, that is 36% reduced mana cost. It looks like it’s about to be nighttime as well, and I think I’m pretty beefed up, so I should be good to go to take on the Eye of Cthulhu. Let’s just clear out this area a bit for an arena. Okay, the arena is all finished. Let’s start it up. Three, two, one. Where is it coming from? On the right. Here we go. And I got to make sure to stay a good distance away cuz this thing can basically just one-shot me. Oh no. Okay, run. Nice. I said this boss can one-shot me, but really anything can. All right, got the shield of Cthulhu. Now, the next boss that I’ll be taking on is going to be the Eater of Worlds. But first, let’s go build some NPC houses. There we go. To the corruption I go. God, I hope this is good enough. Let’s go break these shadow orbs now. Oh god. Here we go. Start attacking. Yes. Don’t let it split too many times. And don’t get hit by those projectiles. Dodge. Oh no. Heal. Ooh. Keep attacking. Yep. We’re doing good. Oh. Oh, way too close. Ow. No. Seriously, I just needed one more hit to kill it. No. Well, it looks like I’ll be fighting it again. Here we go. Round two. Where you at? Okay. I don’t want it to split too many times. Okay. So far so good. Let’s just keep spamming the attacks. Okay. Don’t choke this time. There we go. Second time’s the charm. Now that I have a bunch of shadow skills and demon knight bars, I’m going to craft the nightmare pickaxe. And I think I’m going to pass on the shadow armor. Although the critical strike chance would be nice, I think the jungle armor is just way better. I prefer having a lot more mana so that I can spam my attacks. I’m going to drink a gravitation potion now to look for some sky islands and then it’ll be time to take on Skeltron. There’s the shiny red balloon. And perfect. My gravitation effect just wore off. There’s the lucky horseshoe. Oh, wait a second. A meteorite has just landed. That means I’ll be able to get my hands on the meteor armor set as well as the space gun. I think the space gun might be a better option compared to the Valor because of its range. Let’s go try to find it. And there it is. Okay, that should be the majority of it gone. Time to make the meteor armor set and the space gun. Looks like I got taboo on this thing, but it doesn’t really matter cuz the meteor armor set reduces the space gun mana cost to zero. Let’s see how good this weapon is against the eye of Cthulhu. Here we go. Yeah, that’s not bad. I mean, damage wise, it does not compare to the Bowthorn. Ooh. Oh my god. Jesus Christ. But if I really wanted to play safe, then the space gun is the choice. Okay, let’s go build the arena at the dungeon. And then at night time, let’s summon Skeletron. Arena has been completed and now we wait. All right, let’s begin. 3 2 1 Ooh. Okay, let’s not do that again. Oh, thank god I dashed. Okay. Um, got to be really careful of that head. I feel like once that makes contact with me, I’m just dead. Okay, let’s switch over to the valor, maybe. No. Okay. Yep. Space gun is definitely the play here, even though it’s going to take a lot longer. Okay. Okay, and a goblin army is approaching. I guess I’ll deal with them first before I take on Skeltron. There we go. Goblin army has been defeated. Here we go. Round two. Oh god, that was not a good start there. Let’s give the vowth another shot. Oh my. Okay, we’re still alive. That’s good. One hand down. And that’s two just ahead. Use the battle thorn in here. Yep, that’s good. Go down. Heal. Spins again. And then finish it off with the boworn. Nice. Now that I can enter down the dungeon, I’ll be looking for the cobalt shield, shadow key, and also any magic weapons I can find. Oo, okay. Found the water bolts. Superior. Okay, that is good. I think I’m going to switch back to the jungle armor set. Found the cobalt shield. Okay, Aqua Scepter. I’m going to have to compare the Aquactor and Water Bolts when I go back home. And there’s the Shadow Key. All right, let’s test out the weapons. First up, Aquaceptor. Oo, 700 damage per second. And now for the water bolt. Okay, I think I’m going to have to settle with the water bolt here. And now let’s go mine down to hell to prepare for the wall of flesh fight. There we go. Made it all the way down to hell. Let’s mine some Oh, okay. Got the obsidian skin potion. As I was saying, let’s go mine some hell stone now so that I can make the molten pickaxe. And then after that, I’m going to go search for the goblin tinkerer to start combining my accessories together. Oh, I forgot to pick up the hell forge. God damn it. Okay, finally got it. Molten pickaxe made. Now, let’s go search for the goblin tinkerer. Oh, there he is. Rocket boots and the workshop. I’m also going to reforge the water bolt. Probably not the best idea, but let’s risk it. Let’s get a modifier that reduces mana cost. Okay, big risks, big rewards. Now I can make lightning boots, the obsidian shield, and the mana regeneration band. If I want to make the blue horseshoe balloon, then I’m going to have to find the cloud in a bottle. But that accessory isn’t that necessary. So if I find it, I find it. If I don’t, I don’t. I’m going to find two more life crystals for max health and then it’ll be time to take on the wall of flesh. Okay, just need one more. Oh my god. And there’s the cloud in a bottle. Well, now I can make the blue horseshoe balloon. But before I do that, let’s go find the last life crystal. And there it is. Okay, blue horseshoe balloon made. And now it’s time to take on the wall. I’ve made it to the end of the world. Time to drop in the doll to summon the boss. Here we go. Let’s start throwing out these water bolts. Oh yeah, here we go. Big damage. You know, I probably should have bought some mana potions. Now I’m going to have to wait for my mana to regen. Okay, here we go again. Yes, almost 1,000 damage per second. Let’s wait again. And fire away. And this should be the end of it. I almost died there. Thank god I did not. Let’s open up the treasure bag. Yes, got the sorcerer emblem. I’m also going to make the mana potion so that I can combine it with the nature’s gift to make the mana flower. I’m going to buy some mana potions. And now I won’t have to worry about running out of mana. Traveling merchant has also arrived. What are you selling? Life form analyzer. I’ll buy that. Anyways, now that I’m in hard mode, let’s go back to the corruption to break some demon altars to spawn in the hard mode ores. We’ve got cobalt, myithil, and adamantite. Got enough cobalt onto the Myithil. That is enough Myithil. And finally, let’s go mine the adamantite. And that’s enough adamantite. Let’s make the adamantite armor set. There we go. 37 defense set bonus reduces mana cost by 19%. And because I’m in hard mode now, it’s time to get myself a hard mode magic weapon. Because the Vilethorn was such a good weapon, I’m going to go for the upgraded version of that, which is the crystal vial shard. In order to get this weapon, I’m going to have to kill some hollowed mimics. Oh, there it is. First try. Let’s see the damage of this thing. Here we go. Three, two, one. Oh, 2,700. And let’s compare it with the Valthor. 1,00 only. What a huge upgrade. I need a pair of wings now. So, let’s head up to a sky island to farm some souls of light from vibrance. Here we go. Oh my god, that thing just got destroyed. One more. No. Okay, I killed it. But imagine how strong this will be against the destroyer, especially if I make it up to the clumped up part. That boss is going to die in under a second. Now I can make angel wings. I’m going to farm the materials for the mechanical boss summons now and then summon them the next night. Okay, the next night has arrived. The first mechanical boss that I’ll be taking on is of course the destroyer. Three, two, one. On the left. Go, go, go to the clumped apart. Start smacking. Oh. Oh my god. I just saw 50k damage. No. Okay, got back the treasure bag. Next up, the twins. Oh yeah, that’s pretty decent. Oh my Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Run. Don’t get hit by that flame. Okay, dash. And then it’s going to die. There we go. One more to go. Second phase. Go. Yes. Twins down. And finally, Skeleton Prime. I think the best time to damage it is when it dashes like this. Yeah, that’s going to be the play here. I think getting too close when it’s in that state is just way too dangerous cuz it makes it pretty unpredictable. Let’s heal up just in case. Lasers down. There it comes. All right, all three mechanical bosses have been defeated. Easy peasy. To increase my chances of survivability, I’m going to craft the hollowed armor sets. Let’s head towards the jungle now to search for the planter bulb. Oh, it’s right there. Okay, that didn’t take too long. And it is right next to the temple. So, let’s just build the arena right here. Okay, the arena is more or less complete. Although, I can’t really destroy these chlorophyes because I ran out of hollowed bars making the hollowed armor sets. So, I’m going to have to make do with them there. Let’s go break the planter bulb to summon the boss. Here we go. Coming in on the bottom right. Attack. Go, go, go. Okay, second phase. Got to be careful here. Got to be very careful. Go, go, go, go. Quick. Yes. Okay. Anything that I can use inside this treasure bag. Ooh, the wasp gun. Okay. Uh, maybe not. Maybe not. I honestly thought this would be really good. Let’s enter the temple now to take on Golem. Made it into the boss room. Looks pretty spacious. Let’s clear out the traps first. There we go. All traps have been cleared out. Let’s just summon it. Oh, that sound is so good to hear. Okay. Head’s down. Go, go, go. Just a body. Yes. Ooh, got the staff of earth. Let’s take on Golem one more time with this weapon. Ooh. Okay, that’s not bad. I still think the crystal valve shard is just way better though. Okay, golem down the second time. Before I take on the lunatic cultist, I’m going to head back to the dungeon to grab myself some better magic weapons like the infernal fork or the shadow beam staff. And I’ll probably spend some extra time there to kill some bone leaves for the black belt and tabby for the master ninja gear. Okay, there’s the tabby. Oh, got the black belt. Now I can make the master ninja gear. Oh my god, there it is. What? Okay, made it back. Got the masterful inferno fork. Oh my, another one. Okay, let’s check it out. Okay, I’ll be using this from now on. That is 7,000 damage per second. Let’s go craft the master ninja gear. Beautiful. And finally, let’s go take on the lunatic cultist. Let’s do it. Here we go. Oh, okay. That didn’t do too much damage, but I’m doing a lot. Okay, look at the health bar just going down and done. All right, let’s go take care of these celestial pillars. Down goes the Nebula pillar with some Nebula fragments. I’m going to craft the Nebula Arcanum. Oh, got godly on it. And the Nebula Blaze. Oh, okay. What the heck? I get godly on this thing. And then right after mythical. Let’s check them out. First one, Nebula Blaze. Yeah, I thought so. This doesn’t pierce. So, the immunity thing doesn’t really work. But for the Nebula Arcanum, I think it does. There goes the vortex pillar. Now that I’ve tested out the Nebula Blaze and Nebula Arcanum, I can confidently say that the Infernal Fork is still better. So, I probably will be using this weapon against Moon Lord. All right, one more pillar to go. And there goes the last pillar. Time for Moon Lord. I’ll be starting off with the Nebula Arcanum. Stack them up a bit and then I’ll switch over to the Inferno fork. So during my fight with Moon Lord, I realized that it felt just like a regular fight. Moon Lord’s attacks weren’t killing me in a split second, yet I was dealing insane damage to it. So I ended up defeating it. Obviously, I couldn’t just go along with it and be done with the video. So I had to install another mod that also affected Moon Lord’s attacks. But I didn’t fight him right away. I knew that I had to get a better weapon. The Inferno Fork did do a ton of damage, but it was hard to land my hits. The Nebula Arcanum projectiles were too slow, and the Nebula Blaze didn’t work. So, I summoned Duke Fish Run for the Razer Blade Typhoon. And surprisingly, during this fight, I didn’t take a single point of damage. So, I was quite impressed with myself. Okay, second phase. I’m surprised I haven’t taken any damage yet. Oh, that was close. Keep running. Almost third phase. Here we go. This is where I have to time my dashes correctly. Oh no. Oh, thank god the master ninja gear saved me. Let’s go. First try. Hey, and I got the reser blade typhoon. Here we go. Round two. Time to do it properly. Big damage from the Nebula Arcanum. Now I just got to keep on shooting and focus on dodging the attacks. Teleport. Oh, teleport again. Oh my god. Oh, how did I not die there? Almost done. Few more hits. Come on.
