Trying to get back into building, and decided to challenge myself with a weirdly shaped house with one block offsets on each section. Still a long process to go, but the roof has really stumped me! Thereβs clearly a lot of builders here who are a lot better than I am so wondered if anybody could give some advice on what to do? Build the roof end to end first and then add the roof for each window dormer afterwards. You can look at real dormers to see how the rooflines attach if you’re still struggling.
In this case I’d go yolo with the style. What’s most important to a build like this imho is the initial visual impact. I’d aim for tall roof and maybe try to make the offset corners blend into the roof somehow… basically trial and error until it works I guess. Also don’t be afraid to remove the roof and try again if the result is not satisfactory π
