Empress of Light, on the other hand, has way better summoner gear with the Kaleidoscope and Terrapisma. They both drop 25 gold upon death, and they also have very good wings. I would say that when it comes to drops, these bosses are even. What matters is really the gameplay, and to be honest, I don’t think it’s close. Duke Fishron is great, but simple. He’s very easy to understand after a few battles, and he doesn’t have a wide range of attacks. But then you’ve got the Empress of Light. This boss has far more attacks, making the fight more dynamic and interesting. It’s also a little bit faster, which makes your mobility more important, which is really nice at this stage of the game. Empress sucks multiplayer and dukes biome restricted making it really fun in multi so he floors her

Duke can be fought before any hardmode boss making him WAY better. I think the drops are more useful too, especially the tsunami and bubble gun.

Duke feels like a Terraria boss, Empress feels like an Undertale boss
see the issue with empress is she doesn't feel fair compared to the effort put in, if duke is the same level when it comes to loot then empress is overtuned, considering however you can fight Duke before any other hard mode boss to get the, in your eyes, equivalent mage weapons and flight, he should take this easily, and IMO, dukes weapons just outshine the summoner stuff from empress, but that's more just because of how summoner plays rather than the loot itself, it's some of the best summoner items period.

im ngl, empress is absurdly predictable. as long as u have a dash once u learn her moveset shes quite easy, even enraged. at least duke has a few attacks that are much harder to avoid cuz of dodge cooldown

Respectfully, I disagree. I like Empress of Light (not even in THAT kind of way) but Duke Fishron is the first battle that me and my friend went 'OH SHIT' when we fought him.
Idk if we were simply underprepared for it or what, but that fight was so close.

Empress of light is hard because you always play with one hand you can also play duke with one hand if you are brave
Empress of light attacks are much easier to predict than duke's and he summons sharknados
