All righty then. Today we’re playing a game called Build a Boat. Whoa. What do we have to do? Well, Mikey, we’re going to have to build boats to try and reach the goal at the end of that huge river over there. No problem. Just going down the river is easy. Leave it to me, JJ. Sure, go for it. Okay, I’ll get started over here. I’ll line up some blocks. Okay, Mikey’s already making the boat. Something like this. H. And finally, I’ll put some seats on top of it. Okay, how’s that? Is that it, Mikey? Yep. It looks like it’ll tip over really easily, though. Huh? This will be more than enough. It just has to go down the river. Come on, hop on, JJ. Oh. H, sure. Okay, let’s set off. Yeah, here we go. Wa! See, it’s pretty good, isn’t it? So far so good. Yeah, we’re not having any problems. I hope it stays that way. I knew it. The boat I made is perfect. Uh-oh. There’s a bunch of rocks. Huh? You’re right. But how are we supposed to avoid them? What do we do? No. Watch out. What do we do? Ow. How are we supposed to avoid them? We haven’t hit one yet. Watch out. We’re about to hit that one. [Music] The boat is breaking. No way. [Music] No way. Oh, you’re still hanging in there. No way. We died. It looks like the boat broke apart, so we failed that round. I thought we were doing well. If we’re going to make it down river, we’re going to have to do something about all of those rocks. H I guess so. Oh, hang on. I have a great idea. What if we build a boat with a powerful engine on the back? A powerful engine? That’s right. I’ll start building it right away. Oh, Mikey has an idea. I’ll place two blocks here. Okay. Then I’ll just put seats on top of those. Like so. Mhm. Okay. And now I’ll do this on the back. Wo. Okay. They’re done. Uh, that’s it. All you did was put an engine on a seat. Yeah, but with these engines, I think we’ll be able to make it straight to the end without losing to the rocks. Is that really all we’ll need to make it to the goal? Definitely. Let’s go. Okay, then. Here we go. 3 2 1 start. Let’s turn the engines on. Okay. Ready? 3 2 1 engine go. Go. Okay. Wo! It’s so fast. Wo! No way! No way. We failed. A! Looks like the engines aren’t enough to get us through the obstacles. Let’s try something else. Yeah. H What kind of boat can make it through all those rocks? H Oh, JJ. Huh? I think I figured it out. If we don’t touch the river water, then we can beat this easily. Yeah, we won’t take any damage if we don’t touch the water. Let’s just build our seats really high up. Oh, interesting. That could work. Okay, then I’ll do something like this. Then I’ll stack these blocks all the way up here. Wo, he’s really stacking them. Like this. That’s so high up. Just a bit higher. We’ll be fine as long as we don’t touch the water. Now I’ll add a seat. Okay, come on up, JJ. That’s so tall. It doesn’t look very balanced, though. Maybe it’s fine. It doesn’t matter how it looks, as long as it takes us to the goal, I guess. I’ll come up to the same height now. I’ll set up next to you. Okay, all good. It’s done. Then let’s launch it. Let’s go. We’re off. All right. Hang on. No way. I knew it looked unbalanced. Seriously, this isn’t going very well. Well, building a tall boat just tips us over into the water. Huh? Hang on. Then we just need to make sure it doesn’t fall over. What do you mean? We can just build an airplane. Then we’ll be able to fly through the sky. Yeah, this is definitely a great idea. Let’s build it right away. An airplane? Can you really build something like that? Huh? Of course I can. Leave it to me. I’ll get started on it right away. First, I’ll stack some blocks kind of high up. H. Is this good enough? Next, I’ll break the blocks under here, just like this. Okay. Now, I’ll place more blocks up here like this. Then, I’ll place our seats up here. And finally, I’ll strap some engines to the back. Now we don’t have to worry about obstacles or about it falling over because we’ll be up in the air. Interesting. That definitely sounds like the perfect idea. Right. If we start here, we can avoid all the obstacles and head straight for the goal. Maybe this will actually work. Let’s go. Let’s launch. Activating engines. We’ve lost control of the plane. No way. Seriously. Oh no. The plane is completely out of control. We’re stuck. No. So, I guess we can’t reach the goal by going high up. Huh. I guess not. What should we do now? Oh, I know. This time, let’s build a huge boat that can just bulldoze over the obstacles. Right through them. Uh-huh. But how? Watch this. Okay. All right. So, first of all, I’ll start by stacking some blocks just like this. No, you’re stacking them up high again. Now, I’ll put our seats right here. And then I’ll put an engine here. Huh. All right, it’s finished. What is that? I think this shape will allow us to spin over the obstacles to avoid them. H. Oh, that’s quite an interesting boat, right? Let’s try it out. Okay, here we go. Let’s go. 3 2 1 start. Okay. Wo! Huh? We lost our balance again. No way. Oh, seriously? It’s no good. We’re stuck. No way. I was sure this was going to work. Wow. But then how exactly are we supposed to get through so many obstacles? I think our boats failed because they’ve been too unstable. H So what if we build a super huge super stable boat? A super huge super stable boat? That does sound sturdy, but can we really build something like that? Leave it to me. I’ll build the boat this time. I’ll start by placing a block here. Uh-huh. This time I’ll use the measuring tape. When you use the measuring tape, wo, you can string out a row of blocks all at once. Oh, wow. We want it to be sturdy, so let’s make the base of the boat huge. Uh-huh. All right. Now, I’ll fill it in again, just like the previous layer. So, like this. And now, I’ll make another layer above that. Okay, it’s looking good so far. [Music] All right. Now we have a huge pyramid. It’s huge. Finally, let’s place our seats. Okay, there. Now, we used a lot of materials to build this boat, so hopefully it won’t be very easy for it to break apart. H, but it doesn’t have any engines. Will it be able to reach the goal at the end of the river? Let’s find out. Let’s go. Wo! Well, at least it’s stable enough on the calm part of the river. Yep. Will it make it past the rocks, though? Won’t it break apart when it hits all of those rocks? Let’s see. Huh? Oh, hey, it’s barely taking any damage. Oh, awesome. I don’t think anything has broken off yet. Nice. We got through the first zone. We’re on to the next stage. It’s a giant pyramid, so there’s no sign of it tipping over so far, either. It’s super stable. Yeah. Let’s make it all the way down to the goal. All right, we beat the second zone. Yes. There’s so many obstacles in here. Can we make it through? Still, I don’t think the bottom section has even broken off yet. It’s extremely stable. So far, so good. Wo! It’s not budging at all. We made it through the third stage. Yes. Oh, a Japanese area. It’s pretty. Oh. Huh. Watch out for the throwing stars. Are we safe, JJ? We should be. It’s not budging yet. We beat this stage, too. Yes. What’s all this? The pyramid’s being chipped away at little by little. Oh no. We’re fine, though. Huh? What’s this? Wa. Look out. This is bad. Huh? What’s happening? Huh? Oh. Huh? The water rises and lowers. Oh, I get it. We need to move while it rises. Hurry. Not again. I don’t want us to take too much damage here. Oh, no. But I guess the pyramid seems fine. H. All right, we made it through. Close one. What’s this? Where are we? Is this a river of poison? Huh? They’re shooting cannons at us. Watch out. We need to avoid them. No. Ouch. No way. Careful. No. My sink broke off. We made it through. What’s the next stage like? Nope. Huh? Can we get through this many obstacles? They’re exploding. The red ones explode. And take cover on the back of the pyramid. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Here comes another. That’s all the red blocks. We survived. Huh? We’ve stopped before entering the next stage. Yeah. I wonder why. Wait. Oh no. That’s a lot of rocks. Are we safe? We need to break our way through to move on. Oh, we’re slowly making progress. We are, but the pyramid’s getting pretty small. Is that safe? Avoid that. Okay, we’re slipping through the gaps. All right, we can make it. Wow, we’re almost there. Watch out. Nice. We slipped through pretty well. Okay. Huh. Huh. We should be close to the goal, but Huh. The path just ends. Huh? Hang on. That’s a waterfall. Oh, no. It’s huge. We’re so high up. Are we going to tip over? No way. JJ, it looks like I fell off. I think we failed because we got a little too small at the end. So, let’s build an even bigger pyramid this time. Sure, we’ll build it up like the last one. We’ll finish it up by placing the seats. All right, our giant pyramid boat is now complete. It’s really big. Yeah, we should be able to beat the game with this. Let’s get to it. Okay. So, it looks like we’ll get through the starting rocks without any problem at all. Yeah. Okay. We beat the first stage. Awesome. See that? What? Huh? Wo! Are those boulders? I hope they don’t hit us. No. Oh no. Watch out. This is bad. That was dangerous. But we made it. Wait, is that a tornado? No. And lightning. That’s not good. Oh no. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. I hope we don’t get caught up in the tornado. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. We took a lot of damage from that, but we pretty much made it through. Close one. Wo! UFOs. Wo! And there are naval mines below them. Watch out. That’s not good. At least we built this so big that explosions aren’t affecting it much. Oh, yeah. Time for the waterfall. Oh, that’s right. But we might flip over. We need to land it carefully. Yeah. Okay, here it comes. Let’s do this. No way. Mikey, Mikey fell. It got me. I’m still good, though. You got this. Am I about to reach the goal with this? Huh? I did it. I safely reached the goal. Way to go. So, this is the goal. Wo, there’s a treasure chest. I wonder what’s inside. Let’s find out. Oh, I got new building materials. All right, I made it to the goal and got rewarded with new building materials. You did it, JJ. Let’s try using the new materials to build another boat. Yeah, I wonder how it’ll turn out.
