You get it super early on tho. If you have wine barrels and what not you shouldn’t be using the dehydrator that much but you get it super fast so it helps make you early game money. This argument is like saying a starting weapon in a game is bad because it’s not good late game. That’s irrelevant to when it is useful
i use it for stuff that isnt worth the wine space
Use the dehydrator for crops that you have a TON of, like blueberries, cranberries, or grapes. Makes a good source of recovery food in early to mid game, and you can't tell me you were actually planning on making each of those blueberries into wine.
You might also eventually get to a point where your weekly ancient fruit output exceeds your weekly wine output. (especially if you also have Starfruits, since it obviously gets wine priority over Ancient Fruit)
You might be tempted to think you'll just increase your wine output and you'll eventually get around to using all the ancient fruits you've hoarded, but to do that it's not enough for wine output to catch up to crop production, it has to exceed it. And depending on how much you have hoarded, it will just be a Long while until you've finally get around to turning them into wine. At that point, it might just be better to throw those ancient Fruits into the dehydrator.
The same goes for aging Wine. If you're gonna do it, there are only so many casks you can have.
Once you've stockpiled your next wave of wines for aging, might as well just start selling all leftover wine.
I only use it for mushrooms and low quality crops like salmonberry
Tbf this guys cracked for the average Joe you're not farming enough to get barrels online like this unit. It's valid if you got 30 barrels 15 agers and 500 crops planted
It’s good if you got ginger island full ancient fruit tho
I use it for mushrooms from logs and fruits from fruit trees
It’s great for my blueberries and pineapples.
It's good for blueberries and cranberries. And you only need to make a few dehydrators, 20 you can artisan 700 crops a week. And the recipe don't ask tappers so you can use a few of them while you are building your keg empire.
“Almost 8000 gold” sir you are 2500 away from that almost
With a single-yield crop I agree. However, late game with an endless supply of ancient fruit plants and fruit trees on Ginger Island, it was what allowed me to earn enough for the golden clock. Coconuts and bananas are especially lucrative
I mean if you've already got a chest full of wine stuff and a chest full of jelly stuff and you still have more crops the dehydrator is a good option.
I use it for raisins
