Contrary to what the wiki and some people might say, luck absolutely affects this game. Lucky lunch + ginger ale + 2 luck rings + desert festival ancient fruit meal + good daily luck or any combination of these will help the item drop rate and coins to help you power through it. Do it at the start of the day, don't chance it past 1-2 levels a day, rinse and repeat until victory.
