Never understood the hype behind this accessory, it's a pretty good equip for pre-hardmode and even early hardmode, but by the time you get it it's almost immediately outclassed by wings
This is heresy, the bundle of balloons can carry you all the way to moon lord also there better then most early hard mode wings when paired with featherfalling, not to mention they give great burst mobility, the only bad thing about them is how long it takes to get and it honestly justified for how good they are
I think the double jumps would just mess me up in a fight. Like what happens if I accidentally press the space bar twice and I get sent flying to my death💀🙏
I haven't ever heard much fuss about balloons at all, though? Usually I make a singular horseshoe balloon and that's more than enough for me, but the bundle is still really cool, if anything I'd call it underrated.
The real problem of this item is the three balloons. Usually I can get a blizzard and a cloud pretty easily, and the sandstorm is a 50/50. But three balloons means you better be ready to fish for anywhere from two to six hours at a minimum, which isn’t worth the time compared to just using other gear.
I honestly enjoy just doing things in prehard. I usually end up with terra boots and most things (missing the fishing and hardmode stuff) for the phone. Bundle of horseshoe balloons is a nice bonus on top of everything
The problem with the bundle of balloons is one thing: Oasis crates do not EVER give you the sandstorm in a bottle. Of course you could just make new small worlds to find pyramids or floating islands, but that's cheating! If 100 oasis crates don't give me the bottle, it's literally only worth making if you found a pyramid. And that's IF it's not a flying carpet. 😆
Its not made for pre hard mode, its made to be used until plantera, and yes, early hardmode wings are ass and just use balloons even against golem they are better
It's good, but not best. Don't forget both the PHONE and TERRASPARK BOOTS are prehardmode. Horseshoe balloons are NOT the best prehardmode item in the game.
That's what I like about Terraria tbh, there's a bunch of items that you probably won't get in your first, second, or even third playthrough, but they're always an option. I've only been lucky enough to get the bundle of horseshoe balloons Pre HM in my latest playthrough, but boy did it feel good

If i had to choose most overrated accesory it would be shield of cthulhu. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing mobility item for early game, but I've seen people use it up to moon lord.
It’s easier to craft with the tsunami in a bottle and balloon puffer fish but you still need 2 red balloons and the sand storm in a bottle which is the worst part to get by far, summer has made it easier though but you still need a pyramid

I find it to be extremely useful paired with the slimy saddle mount, it makes for some insane dodging I’ve carried it with me all the way to moonlord
i usually get rid of double jumps when i go to Sky Islands and get Fledgling Wings lol

Unless you’re playing modded, where Qol mods make the bottles and horseshoes craftable… then it’s totally worth it

Unless you're in a higher difficulty playthrough, it's faster and better to just get to the wings in hard mode

I think Ankh Shield is more overrated, because once you get it, it's basically useless.
Just find some world seeds in YouTube for those items
