Ok, Iridium Rod and Baitmaker are both unlocked at fishing level 6. If I'm trying to catch a catfish, I'm either gonna need some deluxe bait, or a cork bobber and iridium rod (also expensive) and then sacrifice my first catfish (also expensive early game!) until I'm fishing level 10… probably worth it when I type it out.
But, I recommend checking Willy's bait selection. You can get some good targetted bait to stock up on, and you don't have to sacrifice a catfish!
