All crafting stations can be used in the same way. Just stand nearby them, open your inventory, and craft whatever. It helps if you put the furnace, workbench, and anvil close together so that all three will be in range at once, since they offer the most commonly used recipes.
Some of these aren’t crafting stations though. There are some buff items in there; these will give you a buff if you interact with them. That Sharpening Station (the grindstone looking thing) will give you the Sharpened buff for example, which increases armor penetration when using melee weapons.
