None, to my knowledge, give you a in-game boost over another candidate – the real choice is only what room you’d like attached to your home, and which person you like the most as a character.
I like to romance Emily. I enjoy her character and I like her attached room. I also like to romance Shane, but his room isn’t my favorite, haha.

I prefer Abby, not because of what she gives (as far as I know, there are spouses who give “better” gifts – if I remember correctly, Penny offers unique decorations, for example) but because I like her personality.

Nobody is more beneficial than the others since they all do the same chores, I guess you could say their gifts could give benefits but its not enough to make a big difference at all.
Personally I like Sam! I think he has a lot of really nice dialogue, he also has a great 14 heart event and is so happy to be a father! Plus he’s blond.

I married Sebastian and, bless his little emo heart. The “im going to take a walk today, I just need time to myself” and random disappear all day/nights drives me crazy.
Oh, and I didnt know his 14 heart thing involved frogs….so now I have one in my house and he wants to raise slimes.

More of a “roommate” than a marriage partner but Krobus is the best IMHO
Vibe-wise, he doesn’t get jealous if you’re dating, you can adopt kids with him, and he has interesting dialogue
Usefulness: He doesn’t help around the farm but sometimes he’ll give you a lucky lunch or fried eel. It’s not overly difficult to get the rusty key early on and those luck buffs are game changing early on

I named our daughter after her cool uncle Morris, who we conceived the night after destroying Pierre in the grange display for a second year in a row. Our next child will be named after Grandpa Rasmodius.

I picked Abigail cause she didn’t seem happy living with Pierre. One of her heart events is that he asks her to help her mom cook and there is a whole thing where she tells him that he only does it cause she’s a girl.
When you’re married she comments on having so much free time now and going around and having fun.
Like her life improved because of the marriage. That was enough for me
