It’s a turnip from a grocery store pushed into the ground to make it look like it’s growing for a staged photo

A turnip that has been dug up, washed and carefully displayed.

I mean… someone clearly just bought a turnip and shoved it into the ground. *You*, I’m assuming? đŸ˜…

I get them from my neighbor sometimes birds spread them when planted or if they go to see. That would be a cool mechanic in stardew. If you don’t scarecrow a harvest item a crow may plop a seed of another random crop in a nearby square. Like eats a wheat seed but drops a star fruit or tomato for summer

It’s me! (my name is turnip in Finnish with ‘la’ at the end)
Everyone is saying turnip but I’m pretty sure that’s a monster sized radish. Some varieties do get this big, or even larger. Both of them can have this kind of coloration and both will bulb up above the soil as they grow. Beets and onions do that too! So this doesn’t look like someone bought it from the grocery store to me, it looks like it grew like that and like it’s half in the dirt.Â
But anyway, radishes grow really fast, often reaching full size in 3-4 weeks. Given that, it’s much easier to entirely miss that a random radish is growing than a random turnip. I’ve never actually grown turnips before, but a quick google tells me they take around 2 months to grow

Looks like a turnip. Time to forage!
