Used this system many times, but for some reason they won't breed. Gave them like half a stack of bread but so far nothing. Turned mob griefing back on so they'll like even pick up the bread and all. Did mechanics change or am I doing something wrong?

They both need a job, do you see that one on the left with the green clothes? That’s a nitwit villager which can’t get jobs. And you need to be far away from a village I believe

Most probably because they don’t have access to beds.
Need access to the beds, might be not be enough beds in the area, gotta give them food. Taters, carrots, beats, bread
Replace the oak slabs with trapdoors.
Both normal blocks and trapdoors will physically prevent them from getting through, but trapdoors will still allow them to pathfind through, while other blocks with collisions will not.
So right now, they can’t pathfind to the beds.
half a stack might not be enough, they have their own invisible inventory. Keep feeding them until they stop picking up food. I went through like 2 stacks of bread and then they started smashing
Heres a couple ideas:
– Close the trap doors and remove the slabs
– make the villager chamber bigger and put the beds in there where they can access them
– make the wall taller and add a ceiling so the villagers feel safe
if they’ve already bred a decent amount then you would need more beds
One of them is an ai bro
They are probably connected to the other beds in the village
Can they make love in that kind of atmosphere
Have you tried putting on some smooth jazz?
They won’t breed because you’re watching them. It weirds them out.
